Influences: Steve Eaves became well known as a poet with the publication of his two volumes, Noethni (1983) and Jazz yn y Nos (1986), and he has been a performing musician for over 35 years. The greatest influence on his work has always been and continues to be the blues, and his poet’s sensibility is evident in his songwriting, as is the influence of jazz, folk and rock. His current band, Rhai Pobl (Some People) has been accompanying him for over 20 years, since the release of their first album Viva la revolucion galesa! in 1983. Steve has a fine guitar-playing style, and a sure sense of musicality, and strong political views. He began as a poet, writing "vers-libre" in Welsh, and he brought this discipline into his song-writing. He always plays a very close role in all aspects of his recordings, from the lyrics music to the finished mix, and the final appearance of the package. “Fashions come and go, but the fine songs of Steve Eaves will last as long as good music is appreciated."
Sounds Like: Daeth Steve Eaves i amlygrwydd gyntaf fel bardd a gyhoeddodd ddwy gyfrol oi waith, Noethni (1983) a Jazz yn y Nos (1986). Bun perfformio ar lwyfannau fel cerddor ers tros 35 mlynedd Y blws ywr dylanwad pennaf ar ei waith erioed, ac maer ddisgyblaeth o sgrifennu barddoniaeth gynnil yn dangos yn glir yn ei ganeuon, ac hefyd y dylanwadau o fyd y jas a sawl math o ganu roc a gwerin. Mae ei fand presennol, Rhai Pobl, yn cydweithio efo fo ers tros 20 mlynedd ers rhyddhau eu casgliad cyntaf, Viva la revolucion galesa! yn 1983. Mae Steve, wrth gydweithio'n glos gyda phobl fel Elwyn Williams, yn cymryd diddordeb ymhob agwedd o'r gwaith: y geiriau a'r alawon, y trefniant a'r offerynnau, hyd y cymysgiad olaf a dyluniad y pecyn gorffenedig. Fel cyfansoddwr, bardd ac offerynnwr, mae ei waith yn goroesi pob ffasiwn, a bydd caneuon Steve Eaves yn parhau yn eu hapel i bawb sy'n gwerthfawrogi cerddoriaeth o safon.
