About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !

Joe's Bio:

I'm a member of the Registry of Guitar Tutors and a qualified school teacher and I've been playing and teaching the guitar for a good few years now. My desire to write and produce my own songs has been steadily growing. I've been entering songs into the UK Songwriting Contest since 2004 and around eight have managed to reach the semi-finals. However, this year (2007) I was flabbergasted to discover that one of my entries 'Nimble Yeti' gained a Finalist position in the UK Songwriting Contest for the Instrumental category. 'Don't be afraid of the Dark' reached the semi-finals (Folk/Country category) and 'Time will tell' was a Highly Commended Entry (Folk/Country). Check out the UK songwriting contest website for full details: www.songwritingcontest.co.uk

I'm a member of the Guild of International Songwriters and Composers and I've gained a Distinction at Grade 8 in Electric Guitar (LCM) and I also have a Diploma in Songwriting. I'm hoping to see some of my songs published in the not too distant future and I'm toying with the idea of putting my first album together.

I've just put up a new song called 'Paint a Picture'. I wrote and performed this song for a local collaboration event between artists and musicians in June 2008. It's quite introspective and I was hoping it would inspire an artist or two to paint me in flattering terms LOL! I've also put up another new song called 'Avatar'. I composed the music for this song but wrote the lyrics jointly with Julia Crowe (A guitarist and composer from New York). Julia is a talented writer and musician/composer - see my top friends if you want to visit her myspace. We'd hoped this would be used for a forthcoming film about an Avatar but I think the filmmakers wanted something a bit more funky and techno - maybe I should do a techno version.'Don't be afraid of the dark' was composed in August 2006 and my daughter reckons it's my best yet (if you have an opinion on this then feel free to let me know). I've also remixed 'In From the Cold' and put it up for you to listen too.

My catologue of songs covers various genres ranging from acoustic folk, gospel, blues, lightrock and even a hint of jazz. You can find further info about my music and my background on my website: www.soulsoothingmusic.co.uk

If you visit my friends you may find some of them don't have the views or opinions you agree with. I'm sorry I can't help that and remember that Jesus Christ was judged for who he associated with.
