Nancy Griffith is a favorite folk arist. I can't leave out Judy Collins, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, James Taylor,
Paul Simon, Peter Paul and Mary... and I enjoy original/indie folk acoustic music that has not hit the charts... lots of good talent out there with lots of creativity! Some other favs are Tracy Chapman, Shawn Colvin, Eva Cassidy, Dave Mattews Band, Patti Griffin and new group,
YERUBILEE
The work is named Yerubilee a morph of "Jerusalem (Yerushalayim)" with "Jubilee," which pictures the coming Jubilee in Yerushalayim as we wait for the Soon and Coming King. The album features Davidic 10-string lyre (kinnor) instrumentation along with 12 Jerusalemite musicians, produced and arranged in a roots reggae style. The album covers approximately 7 popular Messianic/Christian songs, plus at least 4 originals. The language is Hebrew and English, with some French and Swahili, both popular languages in Africa. We call it "Messianic Roots Reggae from Jerusalem."
