Dear people,
myspace has brought such great musicians to my ears and heart as well as people who appreciate my music a lot. In February my new CD "Coming Home At Last" has been released in America. I'm a little proud since it is not very easy for a German to get something started there. And I will watch with lots of curiosity how things will develop. This CD is a special one to me. Most of the lyrics touch painful spots, open doors and ask questions that go beyond the line I have been at before. It was quite a process while writing and became a very emotional, deep experience while recording.
I'm so thankful that Sequoia Records believed in it as it is and accepted the fact that it may not be easy on some people. It means a lot to me.
A friend of mine gave me a photography of his holiness the Dalai Lama the other day. He smiles. And he has a special place in my little Tourbus now. Don't give up - it says to me. And it keeps feeding my belief that we can change some of the false connections in our world. There needs to be something that strenghtens the soft spot, the peaceful mind and our hearts to not turn bitter and cold and I know that music is a strong tool and inspiration.

"Love don't choose between black or white/Jewish, Muslim, Christian, girl or guy," sings Lux on Love Is My Religion, "but blindly passing on traditions leads to fanaticism." Elsewhere on the album, she sighs through the pain of Man Without A Face ("When you cry while making love/when a certain look of a man makes you fall apart") and lets the sun come up with the redemptive Healing Waters ("I curl up in my coat and I hear you say, don't hold them back, it's healing waters").
Produced with Matthias Krauss, the album also reunites Lux with her long-time sound engineer (and Grammy winner 2006), Klaus Genuit, who has lent the perfect atmospherics to these tales of love and loss. Bringing the songs to life, meanwhile, is Lux's band, which features Marius Goldhammer (bass), Tommy Baldu (drums), Heiko Braun (percussion), Matthias Krauss (keyboards and guitar) and special guest Joo Kraus (trumpet).

Manchmal hoert man einen Song, der einen wieder daran erinnert, wer man ist. Einen Song, der an die grossen und kleinen Momente im Leben erinnert, die einen ausmachen. Lauschen und ploetzlich das Gefuehl zu haben, ein wenig mehr von sich und der Welt zu verstehen, das ist magisch.
Christina Lux kann solche Songs schreiben und singen. Seit Jahren taucht sie immer wieder leise auf, ist keine Kompromisse eingegangen, hat einfach immer weiter gemacht, auf unzaehligen kleinen und grossen Buehnen, mit ihrer Gitarre und dieser intensiven, seelenvollen Stimme.
Sie wollte es immer wissen. Hat ihre Kraefte gebuendelt, die Worte in Musik gepackt, mitunter bis an die Schmerzgrenze, ihre eigene Welt geoeffnet zum Hineinschauen. In diesen Momenten haengt man ihr an den Lippen und will wissen, ob und wie es weitergeht. In ihrer Stimme ist etwas das gleichsam aufruettelt und besaenftigt. Christina Lux entzieht sich nicht. In einer Welt, die ueberschwappt von Glitzer-Images und Illusionen auf der einen Seite, und dem Zerfall auf der anderen, schreibt sie Lyrics, die Hinschauen und Fragen stellen.
Der Song Man without a Face, wie ein Schrei, um Licht in ein tief in der Seele verstautes Erlebnis zu bringen. In Love is my Religion Gedanken ueber Religionen, die mehr und mehr von Diskriminierung und Schwarz-Weiss-Denken gepraegt sind. Arms wide open stellt die Frage, ob man es schafft, sich die harten Dinge im Leben anzusehen und dennoch weich zu bleiben. Christina Lux betrachtet, ohne zu Zerbrechen und hinterlaesst mit ihrer Musik immer einen Hafen um wieder anzukommen und den Mut zu behalten. Einen grossen Mantel, in den man sich hinein rollen kann um fuer einen Moment innezuhalten.

Ueber "Coming Home At Last" sagt Christina Lux, es sei ihr Meilenstein, etwas Ausgesprochenes, ein Stueck Himmel, ein Koffer zum Weiterreisen. Produziert hat sie das Album gemeinsam mit Matthias Krauss. Ihr langjaehriger Tonmann und Grammy Preistraeger Klaus Genuit hat mit feinen Ohren meisterlich Christina Lux' Songs zum Leuchten gebracht. Die Band mit Marius Goldhammer (Bass), Tommy Baldu (Drums ausser Track 2+7), Heiko Braun (Percussion Track 2+7), Matthias Krauss (Keys+Git) und als Special Guest Joo Kraus (Trompete, Track 5) hat alle Basic-Tracks live eingespielt und damit ist es das geworden, was Christina Lux liebt: eine Momentaufnahme, tiefes Leben und Intensitaet.
Die Bilder fuer das Album hat Jim Rakete fotografiert. Vor zwanzig Jahren trafen sie sich das erste Mal. "Jim hat mich nicht zuletzt auch mit seinen wachen Gedanken beruehrt und inspiriert. Ihn fuer das Album gewonnen zu haben ist ein Geschenk.", sagt sie.
Sie veroeffentlichte seit 1996 zwei Alben mit dem Vocal-Ensemble "Vocaleros", spielte im Support von Tuck+Patti, Paul Young. 1998 veroeffentlichte die Saengerin und Gitarristin ihre erste EP "She is me", 1999 folgt das erste Album "Little Luxuries". Schon dieses zarte Gebraeu aus Funk und Folk zeigte die stimmlichen Qualitaeten und ihre einzigartige Improvisation. Neben einem Streichquartett gab es nur die percussiv gespielte Gitarre der Lux und eine Stimme, die wirklich unter die Haut geht. Zwei weitere Alben folgen "Pure Love" (ein Solo Live Album 2001) und "Live aus dem Stadtgarten Koeln" (2003) mit Nippy Noya und Marius Goldhammer.
2004 war sie Special Guest bei Laith Al Deen und ging mit Die Happy auf deren Unplugged Tour als Support. Der WDR strahlte in der Reihe Jazz Line ein Konzert aus. Der gemeinsam mit Torsten Wingenfelder (Fury) geschriebene Song "All the Kings Horses" bekommt einen Platz in der U.S. Serie the O.C. (The Proposal). 2005 spielte sie auf dem Montreux Jazzfestival. 2006 Nominierung fuer den deutschen Weltmusikpreis RUTH. 2007 ver..ffentlicht Sequioa Records ihr Album "Coming home at last" in den U.S.A.
