Influences: I am influenced by nearly every drummer I see. The first drummer I really listened to a lot was definetly Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden. This band was my absolut favorite until I was like 15 or 16. Then there was the music of Marillion, Level 42, Spliff and others that really inspired me.

When in the beginning of the 90s hiphop-music became bigger in Germany and live-bands started playing the so called jazz-hiphop or acid-jazz, I was really diggin this style a lot. That was the time, when I fell in love with Steve Jordans playing, when I first heard David Sanborns "Upfront". Other bands that really inspired me were Jamiroquai, Jazzmatazz and a local band called Traffic Jam.

Through hiphop-music I got in touch with jazz-music and was really diggin this music from then on. I had the chance to play in couple of bands and what really opened up my mind and ears, were the master-classes I went to and my studies at LA Music Academy. So thanks for that :-)

Now I am listening to a variety of musical styles and am very happy to play lot s of them in band-situations sometime. The last big influence probably was my work with Hamid Baroudi who introduced me to African and so called World-Music. Also playing with Cuba Libre and exploring cuban music really open up my musical interests... :-)

There is more to come, I am sure and happy about it ;-)

Here are some videos I play on. Please enjoy.

... don't you like that global beat kit ? I love it!
