Note on the recently posted "Ending and Beginning:"
i just dug up a cd-r of a recording session that i did with my old tiger mountain comrade steven thomas... it was the first time we'd played together in over 7 years... i edited a piece, "ending and beginning," from a 45 minute jam... the first 2.5 minutes are from the very beginning of the jam and the last 4.5 minutes are from the end... oh, yeah, i'm in the right channel and steven is in the left....
The classic Steve Thomas & Tony Renner line-up of Tiger Mountain rose phoenix-like from the ashes of Ne Plus Ultra in 1996.
Tiger Mountain played on the parking lot of Terrastock I in Providence, Rhode Island, on April 26, 1997.

"During the dinner break I was drawn outside by the beautiful sounds wafting in through the window of the chill lounge. I got outside and there they were, "Tiger Mountain" a group of people that didn't take no for an answer. They wanted to play the festival, even if it was only in the parking lot. I'm glad they did. I hope that someone got some of their stuff on tape and that it appears on the live album, because they were really good ambient guitar with tabla percussion [not actually a member of Tiger Mountain; just a guest whose name has been lost to posterity]."

"there was a group called Tiger Mountain playing in the parking lot during the break, which provided an interesting atmosphere for dinner. does anyone know the deal with this one? i really enjoyed the music...ambient guitars.... did they not make it on to the Terrastock bill for some reason and played the parking lot out of spite, or did they just come down for the day and decide to play some tunes?"
