The Surf Rockets? The Surf Rockets are four friends that get together and play surf music and anything else that comes to mind. Funny things happen in the practice room. Each of us are in different bands, but when there's a window of opportunity, we get together for a recording project or a live show. Influences: Dan Scanlan, alias, (Cool Hand Uke), my oldest brother, (the person I hold responsible for handing me a funny lookin' wooden object shaped like a women's body with 6 strings on it when I was just 12 years old), to Aerosmith, (early Aerosmith), to The Ventures, to UFO, to Ratt, to Dokken, Zep, dig the Doors, to Los Straightjackets to Dick Dale, to Phil Dirt, to Clint Eastwood, (and Beachwood), to Sponge Bob, to the Insect Surfers, to Slacktone, to Preston Ritter, (Electric Prunes). It goes on and on. The Surf Coasters definitely trip my trigger and The Detonators get me hot and bothered. I dig the edgy balls to the wall surf sound or anything close to it...........
