B ad Ego Trip began in the fall of 2006, when drummer Brad Higbie met guitarist and vocalist Sean Galvin while Sean was practicing with his former band. The two started jamming together, and eventually moved into a barn on a strawberry farm in rural Oxnard, CA, where Bad Ego Trip would eventually trace their roots.
From the strawberry farm they started practicing and perfecting their original songs and began the crucial search to find a bassist. The duo struck gold in May 2007 when they convinced friend Austin Vosler to learn bass and join the act. Bad Ego Trip played their first show (mostly instrumental) on July 12 th , 2007 at Sans Souci Cocktail Lounge in Ventura, CA and their fan base has been growing rapidly ever since. Later that summer, Ryan Galvin, Sean’s brother, joined the group to take over the lead vocal position in the band.
Bad Ego Trip is an eclectic mix of classic and modern rock, with a touch of funk, jazz, and punk on the side. Sean’s progressive rock writing style combines long, trippy melodies with heart-pounding riffs and guitar solos. Brad’s thunderous drumming mixed with Austin’s hard hitting bass is the perfect compliment to Sean’s original guitar style and Ryan’s wide range of vocals melodies. A touch of many influences can be found hidden between the unique, creative rhythms and enchanting melodies for a one-of-a-kind musical experience.
Bad Ego Trip is currently recording their first demo, as well as continuing to write new songs. The band performs at least weekly in the Ventura County area, in addition to several shows in the Los Angeles area. With every show the crowd (as well as the fan base) continues to expand and provides incredible new opportunities for Bad Ego Trip.
