AMPHITRIUM

About Me

Amphitrium project was born in 1999 from an idea of Maldah (Guitars & Bass), Tenka (Guitars) and Algor (Keyboards), and reached a concrete form in 2002 with the first self-produced MCD. Some session musicians took part in this creation, such as Pax (drums) and Leberbor.
After the MCD release, next goals became to write new songs and find a steady line-up to finally propose their music on stage.
In November 2002 a young and talented drummer joined the band Giankrush.
In the meantime the collaboration with Leberbor went on, and in June 2003 Amphitrium entered studios once again to records two new songs: Chrysalids and Silence is mine, the crucial turning point in the compositions process.
At the end of 2003 the original line-up was radically modified: a new singer, EvilS.A.M., replaced Leberbor, unable to follow properly the band for personal reasons and in November the historic union Algor-Amphitrium broke up. At the same time Jaz joined the band as the bass player.
The Swiss Metal Acts line-up was finally completed:
EvilS.A.M. vocals
Maldah guitars
Tenka guitars
Jaz bass guitar
Giankrush drums
The 2003 promo was remixed in 2004 with the new vocals, and since then Amphitrium has been devoting itself to live performances, hitting the stage with great bands from the international extreme music scene, such as Marduk, Ancient, Rotting Christ, Grave, God Dethroned, and performing in famous venues like Transilvania Live (Milan, Italy), Thunder Road (Pavia, Italy), Garage Music (Bellinzona, Switzerland) and Metro Rock Club (Lugano, Switzerland).
Amphitrium recently played the internationally famous HEINEKEN JAMMIN FESTIVAL in Imola (Italy), where they performed on the same stage as METALLICA, Lacuna Coil, Avenged Sevenfold and Trivium.
