Well...something about me, I'm known as Gianka, live in switzerland and play drums since i'm 16 years old. I started to study percussions at the age of 10, and got in touch with a drumkit some years later....love was born.
I took some years private lessons, after that period i studied one year at CPM in Milan before changing to SMUM jazz school in Lugano where i was integrated in the pre-professional section, having the possibility to study with some important musicians.
My career as a drummer started when i decided to play some Metal with my friends, first; to have a chance to practice what i was studing, second; because of the genre, but i like to listen and play every kind of music.
In those early years i formed a band called Demise, but after few concerts, line-up changes and a never finished promo the project died. At least i was getting well-known in the local scene so that in 2002 i was contacted by the extreme Metal band AMPHITRIUM.
In 2006 i had the possibility to perform with Amphitrium at the internationally famous HEINEKEN JAMMIN FESTIVAL in Imola (Italy), where i played on the same stage as Metallica, Lacuna Coil, Avenged Sevenfold and Trivium.
Also in 2006 i had my first tour experience with this band, touring trough europe with the swedish black metal band Setherial, fucking great time we had togheter.
Going back to 2004; i got in touch with Enough to Kill from Milan, because of the departure of their drummer i was installed behind the drumkit.
I prepared some songs and in 2005 i recorded the drum on a self produced Ep called “ Lost Dreamsâ€, wich had a good success.
Also at the beginning of 2007 i became session member of Norwegian Black Metal act ANCIENT. I got in touch with my friend Dhilorz and i played for Ancient on the whole SOUTH AMERICAN TOUR. Really great shows we had there, and fucking good crowds.
Last but not least; The Sickening Project:
This band grews up from the ashes of my first band Demise, i never stopped to play with my great friend and guitarist Lukas so after years of line up troubles we put togheter a kick-ass formation with Morbus Gravis singer and guitarist and ex Falling Silence bassplayer.
Meanwhile i successfully completed my studies as sound engineer at SAE in Milan. This to realize my project of a recording studio that i'm building with some friends. Now i'm working as studio assistance at AlphaOmega studio in Como, and as SESSION DRUMMER.Don't hesitate to contact me...
