The first STORMCROW’s embryo was born in the far 1997 also if the the first complete line-up didn’t see the light before 2000 and it was composed by Zedar (Bass), Goraath (Drums), Racknos (Vocals) and Lord Namael (Guitar).
Few months later, the first work of the band, Hell on Earth – MC, is recorded in two days at the Malibù Studio in Milan; anyway this release isn’t pressed untile some months from the recordings has passed.
This first demo contains 5 tracks for a total of about 20 minutes of raw Black Metal:
1. Hell on Earth
2. Blackmoon’s Ritual
3. The Undead Legion
4. Black Lord’s Risin’
5. Regnum Coeli in FlamesIn the following months, thanks also to Christophe Spajdzel (also the band’s logo designer), STORMCROW are able to organize a good live activity with shows in Italy and in foreign countries with bands like: VADER, NEFARIUM and MORTUARY DRAPE.
The year next to the release of the first demo-tape, Racknos and Lord Namael left the band due to personal motivations. The search for thier substitues isn’t easy nor fast but it ends, some months later, with the join of Loki (Guitar) and Narchost (Guitar) in the band.
After a period of obvous arrangements, all the work done before (and not yet recorded) is taken and re-listened. The tracks that aren’t discarded are rearranged under the style that the income of the new members (and the growth of the older) impose. So, the tracks that will be in the next work take form.
The three days’ recordings of Wounded Skies – MCD take place at the Alex Azzali’s Alfa e Omega Studio. At the end, the four tracks (and the intro) that are in this new release came out:
1. Keeping the Serpent’s Path (Intro)
2. Dark Promises (are Always Kept by Satan)
3. Demons
4. Anathems from Our Martyrs’ Graveland
5. Wounded SkiesThe final version of this work, as always, took more time than estimated. With the ended master (and nearly all of the booklet done), STORMROW starts to search a record contract sending it to most of the European labels.
It always get positive, sometimes enthusiastic, comments, also among the webzines of this musical field, but none label (apart from the swedish Downfall Records) offers an arrangement to the band.
The opportunity came, some months later, from the American continent. The new reborn Dwell Records, under the guide of James Curtiss, would like to get back in the market producing original estreme music and choose STORMCROW as first band of this new label’s direction.
June, 6th 2006 is the official release date of Wounded Skies that is reviewed on american’s webzines and magazines provoking great interest and very good comments.
In the meantime the live activity of the band goes on also if closet in the Italian’s boundaries. In some of this shows, STORMCROW, got the honour to play with band like: SHINING, ENTHRONED, HANDFUL OF HATE, SACRADIS and, once again, MORTUARY DRAPE.Actually the band is working hard upon the tracks that that will take place in the debut full-leght album; they are songs entirely written with the new line-up, that differì from the previous ones for personality and composing maturità . They develop, in a very personal way, all the good that is in the EP, on a purely musical layer so as on the layer of personal beliefs.
Surpassing the barren pseudo-satanist philosophy of the first years every member of the band develop its own ideas and being. The encounter points could be detected in the Nietzschian’s view of the existence, in the anti-christianism, in the anti-humanism and in the defense of the own pagan homeland, the alpine arc.
