Interests is not strong enough word, I would like to mention some TRUE passions i have for - travelling: I adore adventurous "freelance" travelling, especially walking through breathtaking landscapes. On this occasion, i use to take lots of pictures that are or will be used for some album covers and inlays but also many other purposes. 2006 will be again a year i intend to use for new discoveries, especially that i plan to visit the USA but also Brasil, Chile, Peru, Argentina...and possibly other continents too. -wildlife: During my studies, i have completed a memoir about the protected species of beetles in Europe but my infinite curiosity is also extended on studying reptiles, amphibians, birds in their natural environment. A passion I would love to do my profession of. -calligraphy: Everywhere i go, i carry my drawing board, paper, art-pens, pencil to draw all these logos that you can already see on myspace. I don't need any sophisticated material, just some paper, a few pencils and pens coupled with my inspiration and once i am carried away, my artistic hand generate some supreme art which gave me a cult status as artist in the scene (mostly metal bands but also recently some airbrush and clothing companies). The demand for logos and artworks is very high (I would like to thank everyone who showed interest in my artistic skills, that is truly appreciated), so i am working with a strict schedule to meet tight deadlines on that matter, all that besides my full time Customer Service Assistant...so please bear in mind i have almost no time left. That is what some call living 25 hours a day...
Mature, Serious and dedicated individuals/bands/recordlabels/magazines/webzines/producers/ actors... from all over the world who appreciate my artistic skills and my passion for excellence, no matter what music you listen to or interests you share, as long as you are able to value my time and dedication. I am mostly looking to make new friends through networking. When it goes to my art, I am filtering from now on and will consider requests only from serious individuals and bands who will strive for a constant improvement, aiming for a respected status in the scene with quality releases.Real friendships mean the whole world to me, as I experienced it during my recent trip to California. Always having been single, I am not looking for any kind of relationship, just friends and that's it!Please note I will not tolerate any kind of time wasters who are on MySpace just for fame and attention, constantly changing their minds and making me work for nothing. If it is your case, I REALLY suggest you to stay away from my page!
If anyone thinks my musical tastes are restricted to metal, then think twice! I LOVE ALL KINDS OF MUSIC, from classical, ethno, folk, blues, rock, trance, ambient up to Metal and i have no limits. Some of my favorites are Faithless, Ian Van Dahl, CJ Stone, Ultravox, U2, Depeche Mode, Visage, Theodorakis, Dalaras, Berlioz, Beethoven, Portishead, massive Attack, Obedient Bone, Manes, Stille Volk... There is one style i've been particularly interested since i was a kid, it is METAL, I started listening to when it was reserved to a selected, loyal and dedicated audience whose heart was cast in steel. If there is ONE band I worship to the hilt and i would do EVERYTHING to see live or in their practice room, it's SADISTIC INTENT from LA!! They are my GODS! My all time favorites are Kiss, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, King Diamond/Mercyful Fate, Venom, Candlemass, Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Possessed, Bathory (Blood, Fire, Death is an absolute milestone in the metal history), Ostrogoth (Belgium, excellent mini-album "Fullmoon's Eyes"), Deadly Blessing (NJ), Slayer, Kreator, Blessed Death, Vulcano, Sarcofago, Absu, Necrovore, Exodus, Infernal Majesty, Necrodeath (Italian legends), Mayhem (with the old line-up), Profanatica, Ancient Rites,Abazagorath, Inquisition (Colombia/USA), Reencarnacion (Colombia) Demoncy, Sadistic Intent, Asphyx/Soulburn(The Netherlands), Necropolis (Excellent album "Contemplating Slaughter"), Torture (Excellent albums "Terror Kingdom" and "Storm Alert"...and...they are on myspace!), Ophtalamia (excellent album "To Elishia" from this legendary and totally underrated band from Sweden, featuring Abruptum members), Dissection, At The Gates, Disfear, Insaniac (USA, excellent demo "Psychomania"),Dead Conspiracy and too many more! I have quite a lot of current favorites too: Shakedown, Pit Fiends, Droomstyyg, Manetheren, Infurya, Grand Nocturne, Nokturne (LA), Withered Dreams, Iconoclasm (Belgium), Diabolos, Sin Origin, Engorge (All hails to KEP! I am dying to see you live!), Wartanas ( a veteran black metal band who only now starts to get some recognition!), Bahimiron, Blessed Agony, Adumus, Hordes Of The Lunar Eclipse, Sumeria, Teratism, Evil God (Texas hyper-technical black metal legend Tim Bartlett), Mendeed, Diabolicum, Order Of The Ebon Hand, Gosforth (italy), Desdominus (Brasil), The Stone (Serbia), Negura Bunget (Romania), Cold Northern Vengeance, Xasthur,Triste, Sol Asunder, Sarcoma (Bay Area), Torment Eurynome, Red Mist (Exeter's most promising band), Sekhmet (Exeter), Incarnate (Exeter), Legion Victorious (San Francisco's upcoming promise), Vociferation Eternity (Malaysia) and countless more. Everyday i can find some gems, especially in the USBM/Metal scene rather than in Europe. It is unusual for someone from Europe to be a fervent admirer of the USBM scene, what I definitely am and i am proud to be ONE OF THE FEW USBM fanatics in Europe!
I appreciate anykind of breathtaking movies with a scientific (An Inconvenient Truth, The Bear, Microcosmos...), historical aspect (TROY) or a heroic fantasy aspect (WILLOW, LORD OF THE RINGS, STAR WARS...) where grandiose landscapes and breathtaking dimentions are subjugated. However i very rarely go to the cinema. I prefer to discover the Nature's grandeur at every occasion. I also love and throroughly watch WILDLIFE documentaries on channels like NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC or BBC Wildlife when i have the occasion. In other words, i am very selective when it goes to the medias.
I have a practically TV-free lifestyle, except if it for the ESSENTIAL news and/or interesting documentaries about Wildlife, History, Geography, Society , special events the rare times i have available to do so. Generally i prefer listening to some underground promo stuff i receive every week from the bands/labels i am in contact with...which gives me inspiration to draw logos...but i can take my workshop anywhere i want. I even draw logos at gigs or at meetings or when out.
I love reading books about Wildlife, any scientific and precise work but also books with lots of Nature and Wildlife photography where majestic landscapes unveiled their unaltered charm. Between reality and fantasy, i love reading legends and fairytales about the lands i treaded and always aimed to visit. Nature's purity was, is and always will stay my universe. Wherever i go, i always take some scientific guides of insects/reptiles/birds as it has been my aim to know for each species i encounter the latin/scientific name and to know about its biology. Besides that i read a lot of underground fanzines featuring the bands i am particulary interested. One of my recommendation is the californian webmagazine RAGINPIT from San Francisco. I really would like to invite EVERYONE to check www.raginpit.com, it is a professional magazine open to ALL SORTS of metal, written with honesty by dedicated people, with loads and loads of live pictures from gigs in the USA and Europe. This summer there will be underground shows in Europe covered too.
The Forces of Nature rule supreme. Gaia for the Earth, she gave life to plants but in her anger, she caused deadly earthquakes, Poseidon/Neptunus for the air and water, an element for plants and animals to disseminate throughout the world...but think about the storms. Pyros for the Fire, again fire purifies, close a cycle, allow some seed to raise from their dormancy but also can be a deadly weapon if in the wrong hands...Historical personalities like Julius Caesar who created the Roman Empire, Christopher Columbus who discovered America, Darwin for his pioneering theories on evolution of species in response to their adaptation to their environment. I would like to mention Stuart from KillZone records and Tim Bartlett from Blessed Agony/ Evil God and Noise Farm studios in Texas for their incredibly fabulous work. I would like to mention a symbol of resistance and an icon in the Exeter everyday's life, Donna Challice for her guts and courage to win a battle on her own against the greedy authorities of the Exeter City Council. Well done, Donna!
