Originally from Eighty Four, Pennsylvania, Justin moved across the country to the Bay area to give it a shot in the music industry. Born in February of 1981, he started playing drums at the age of 10. He spent his first few years of drummer taking lessons from Val DaPray, learning all the basics of Jazz, latin, rock and blues. He started off playing along with all his favorite Gun’s N Roses tunes, then later down the road started to gain interest in bands like Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer. All these bands gave him the drive to want to go out there and play some good, heavy music. Justin got in his first real band in high school sometime in 1997. They played a lot of local shows bringing in a decent crowd at every show. After high school, he played in a few different bands with friends, playing mostly cover tunes from bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Queensryche and Megadeth.
January 31,2004 Justin made the move to California where he would hope to find a band to play in, and hopefully do some touring. Two months after getting to Cali, Justin had his first drum lesson with one of his favorite thrash drummers, Paul Bostaph(Slayer,Exodus), who really helped Justin with a few things that made him a stronger drummer. Things were slow the first year in cali, and it wasn’t untill December of 2004 that he found a band to play with. As of February of 2005, Justin has been a member of the band Torture, originally from El Passo,TX. Justin has played shows with Overkill, Dragonlord and Exodus, and has appeared in metal magazines such as BW&BK, Unrestrained, BAST, Pitt and AMP. He has also appeared on the radio with Torture on 107.7 The Bone’s, Metal Zone show with Billy Steele in SF.
As he continues to play the music he love’s, Justin looks forward to playing with many great musicians, and doing as many projects as possible. Justin is available for touring and studio work. Please send a message if your interested in hiring him.
