About Me

Tom Robinson hosts BBC Introducing: Fresh On The Net in the small hours of Sunday and Monday mornings on BBC 6 Music. Both shows feature two hours of new tunes from cyberspace - tracks by emerging artists that can also be heard on their own MySpace pages etc. The music is recommended each week by listeners, musicians - and colleagues from BBC Introducing shows across the UK. Anyone can suggest tracks for the show (including their own) using the online Recommend Music form.
His Friday night shows on BBC 6 Music feature live-to-air sessions by bands and solo artists direct from the 6 Music Hub plus Tom's pick of the new releases and vintage album tracks.
Tom previously worked as a songwriter and recording artist with Cafe Society (1973-6), Tom Robinson Band (1977-9), Sector 27 (1980-81), solo (1982-99) and with Faith Folk and Anarchy (2001-2). The Cafe Society album was produced by Ray Davies and Tom's subsequently worked with Chris Thomas, Todd Rundgren, Steve Lillywhite, Peter Gabriel, Elton John, Dan Hartman, Robin Millar, Jakko Jakszyk, Manu Katche, Chris Rea and TV Smith.
