I have taught for many years and now the spectre of early retirement seems very attractive. I am presently studying to get a qualification in genealogy with a view to starting my own famly research company. (For people with Scottish roots). The aim of this site is to bring Geldof's solo music to a younger and wider audience. Songs such as Love or Something, Great Song of Indifference, Love Like a Rocket and This is The World Calling. I have been happily married to the same man for 17 years. We met through a love of drama, and on our wedding day he was appearing in a play and I was doing props that night. So we took all the guests to the theatre with us. As it was a boring Chekov, many either fell asleep or left early.I am generally a laid back, contented person. Some unusual facts about me. .I once had to phone my husband to get the Ireland-Scotland rugby score for Bob Geldof. .I once got thrown out of a sex shop in Amsterdam. .I have ridden in the Queen's Scottish State Coach, more than once. .I once was mistaken for a prostitute in Oslo. .I have appeared , performedin a show, before HM The Queen. My name Irene means peace and I do live up to that name. I am very much a peacemaker and hate confrontation... a

My Interests

I love theatre and cinema. I like dogs and babysit other people's dogs. I love the peace and quiet of the Scottish Highlands and eating out in good restaurants. I am vegetarian. I try to keep fit.

I'd like to meet:

Bob Geldof, again. For a bit longer this time. The last time he wanted to know the Scotland/Ireland rugby score.I had to phone my husband for that. Midge Ure, Nelson Mandela, Hilary Clinton, Kofi Annan and if I could meet a person from history, Queen Victoria.

Music:

As a child of the 60s, The Beatles, then in the 70s, David Cassidy. Now I listen a lot to Bob Geldof solo music, all the old rock legends, such as the Quo, Queen, Rod Stewart, Elton John, The Proclaimers, Ultravox. I like most kinds of music, though not opera or classical. New Talent- John Keenan.

Movies:

Any film with lots of action in it, a thriller or crime drama. Not mushy romantic stuff.

Television:

Not too keen on reality TV, except The Apprentice, which had me hooked. I like thrillers, ..aries crime dramas and Corrie.

Books:

Ian Rankin,(who features Geldof and Bono in his next novel), Quentin Jardine, Alexander McCall Smith,(who calls Bob Geldof "That man with the untidy hair who sang to help the hungry"- a fitting epitaph?), JK Rowling and Henning Mankell. So, 4 Edinburgh authors and a Swede.

Heroes:

Kofi Annan, Bob geldof, Bono, Midge Ure, Nelson Mandela and everyone who stands for injustice.
