TheLeeGriffiths (TLG) is both a band and a songwriter who was first discovered as a soulful teen prodigy by Paul Morley of ZTT in the 90s. See interview for what happened next. In the last 2 years new TLG material began appearing - on Manchester compilation albums from Blue Cat and Adelfi - and last summer on the Acid Jazz compilation The Reinvention Of Folk. See Releases for more info. The long-awaited 2nd album from TLG man and band - Armchair Anarchy - is finally set for 2007 release. Some tracks were produced by Ian Grimble (Manics, Texas, Travis, Wannadies etc) while some of the new edgier tracks emanate from the TLG home studio in Moston. More recently Griffiths has been working as a session singer in London with record producer Steve Levine. It's not for nothing fans call themselves The Gobshites: solo or with band TLG's charismatic stage shows are a unique mix of mouthy Northern attitude, virtuoso soul vocals and subtle, finely crafted lyrics of painful tenderness. His radio session for BBC Manchester in early 2006 was sensational, and he's recently picked up spot plays on Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music. currently working on new material for a third album.
