ABOUT WIGGLE PUPPY PRODUCTIONS
"Just make us look cool!"
Wiggle Puppy Productions is a boutique multi-media production company specializing in concert/documentary (i.e. Rockumentary) footage for bands. We just make them look cool, then document the rocking and the funny as is! We also make other stuff like independent feature films, weird and funny little shorts, and have finally come to terms with the fact we spend most of our time trying to keep up with the high demand for doggy smut films. We strive under pressure, and love the intensity of live production and music festivals. Some of our previous work includes: commercial spots, multi-media projects like e-Learning, live events and production, consulting for first and second time filmmakers, et cetera et cetera. Oh and don’t forget our patented "Puppy Life Coaching" (unfortunately we don’t get paid for our "Tips for Living" we spoon feed to everyone we meet). BTW - If you are looking for more enticing personal info - check out our personal pages found in the top 2. And don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE now to WPPTV at our Vimeo , Veoh and YouTube channels.
Wiggle Puppy Productions was created in 1998 by partners in crime Mark Krieglstein and Sara Yule just in time for their first 35mm feature, Urban Ground Squirrels .
UGS was a film ahead of its time, being the first 35mm film to take on a full 2k digital transfer and the mountain of problems that needed solving to go with it. As a couple of youngin’s we got through it and came out the other side with a masters in peopology and a lifetime of experience...and a film that turned out to be as useless as a film degree. (For more Urban Ground Squirrels info check out the UGS on the IMDB ).
In 2000 we collaborated with MTV on their award winning series "True Life". With a handful of independent films under their belt, they branched into shooting live music / concerts. WPP Documented Phish’s NYW 2000 Millennium event on the Seminole Indian Reservation in Southern Florida with over 80,000 fans and continued working with the band and their inventive crowd (which included their crew / management / friends / family / fans) to collect hours and hours of vaulted unseen mysterious golden dipped and diamond studded footage. Unfortunately it was all in black and white and Trey just didn’t get it, so we never heard back from them again. Just kidding - it’s in full bright techno-color and just waiting on the right project, or one of them to run out of money.
In reality Wiggle Puppy was lucky enough to be a small part in Phish’s special place in rock history. We owe much of our learning experiences and friendships to them. And so much more. So in 2003 we did it again when they hired us back to document their aptly titled IT festival in Northern Maine. Working with one other production team we captured the weekend for all to watch and relive. To see an excellent representation of the "Wiggle Puppy Style" check out the "IT" DVD, which among other things features our exclusive vision of the epic "Tower Jam". For more info see the IT WPP press release below or visit IT on the IMDB , or check out the "It" DVD.
In 2001, WPP produced a second feature called "Small Jobs". Inspired as a motivation for their interns and part-time employees to get their asses in gear and find their own production experience, Small Jobs was written and directed by the first person to step up to the plate, their youngest intern Willy Nast (aka Will Nasty) who was 18 at the time. It was shot on a very low-budget utilizing donations of every kind; friends, fundraisers, and family members, which was actually refreshing compared to the over half a million dollar budget of UGS. After this experience we took pleasure in consulting/producing and began to help other filmmakers with their low-budget Indies; squaring away contracts, organizing, negotiating, etc.
Since, WPP has cut out a small niche making films and videos working with an eclectic group of organizations and bands including but definitely not limited to: Phish, The Flaming Lips, Super Furry Animals, Dios (Malos), Ingrid Michaelson, Candylion (w/ Gruff Rhys of SFA), The Benevento Russo Duo, Dead Meadow, Preface 73, Califone, Dan Wilson, Meiko, Natalie Walker, Bustle in Your Hedgerow, Grace Potter, The Benevento Russo Duo, Addison Groove Project, The North Mississippi AllStars, Taj Mahal, Los Lobos, moe, Matisyahu, The Mink Lungs, Burning Spear, Jennifer Hartswick Band, Big Frog ("Japan’s only Jamband"), Chris Berry & Panjea, The Violent Femmes, Raq, Joshua Radin, Panavision, The Hotel Café Tour 2008, The Art of Being, etc. as well as local Chicago talents such as: Umphrey’s McGee, Ultra Sonic Edukators, Gio, The Giving Tree Band, Future Rock, Todd Carey, Dearborn, Andreas Kapsalis Trio, Oucho Sparks, Treologic, Wicker Park Festival, Silver Wrapper Presents, Triple Dat Mas, amongst many many others.
The film project is another independent feature, a warm and fuzzy little story of a boy and his dog called Dave & Bowie, which we plan to shoot on HD this fall. It’s a little funny, a little weird, and a little daft. Check back for more info on the film’s progress. We’re scheduled to start Pre-Production in the spring.
Be sure to subscribe to WPPTV at our Vimeo , Veoh and YouTube channels, for unreleased outtakes, full songs, as well as more material we plan to upload from the vault this year. I would also keep a watchful eye on the blog here as we will be posting any further projects, thoughts, updates as well as the occasional nude photo. We are just starting our online revolution!

IT Press Release 2003
Wiggle Puppy Productions, a Chicago based production company, headed by Director Mark Krieglstein and Producer Sara Yule, was hired by the band Phish to film a variety of documentary and concert footage at "IT", their two-day festival in Limestone, Maine. Using both 24P High-Definition and MiniDV formats, the camera team captured an array of interesting scenes from backstage production to fan interactions.
The highlight of the shoot was definitely the tower set, says Krieglstein, referring to filming the band playing a surprise set atop the Loring Air Force Base control tower. “There is nothing more exhilarating then being a hundred feet in the air trapped between the energy of 60,000 fans and Phish.†It’s without a doubt some of our best work.
