About Me

Make your own Banner Here!

The Amber Herd formed in Summer 2006 and includes ex members of Sheffield's Beulah Kop and Nottingham's Wide Eyed Wonder. The four piece band made its live debut at The Old Angel in Nottingham in September '06. Following this, in Autumn '06, we played at two big Pink Floyd tribute shows, in Brighton at the Komedia and at Glasgow's Jumpin' Jaks.
A 10 track CD of original songs, TAILS OF WASPS, was finished in 2006 and features Stage Fright and Apple and others from the live set. The band will shortly be going into the studio to record some new tunes and these will be added onto this site as and when.
In 2007 we recorded Magnolia for the Neptune Pink Floyd website DOUBLE CORE originals album project and a cover of Floyd's "The Gnome" for Volume 3 of the NPF tribute series. Double Core has just been released and is a 60-odd minute continuous piece featuring tracks from bands in the USA, Croatia, Sweden and the UK to name but four. The full ten minute version of Magnolia forms, in our opinion, the centerpiece of this album. Both Tails of Wasps and Double Core are available by sending us a message.
We did a good variety of shows last year including the Maze in Nottingham on June 13th with the Silver Tongues and Curtis Whitefinger's Ordeal. We then played the Sneinton Festival aftershow on July 14th. Following this, Neil did a show at The Cheese and Grain in Frome on Bank Holiday Saturday, 25th August, at a Pink Floyd tribute festival.
Moving to the recent past we played a full band acoustic show at Folked Up @ The Loft, Mansfield Road, Nottingham on 20th September and then two Oxjam shows at The Loggerheads, Nottingham on 6th October and The Green Room, Chesterfield on 21st October, before playing a cold but ace set in the Loggerhead's caves on 23rd Nov. Paul then did a blistering solo show at the Logjam on 1st Dec.
Our final gig of last year was our special Christmas show at The Loft on Mansfield Road on 16th December where we played with the legendary Joey Chickenskin.
Our first gig of the year was at The Lady Margaret Hall in Welbeck, Notts on Saturday 2nd Feb supporting Breathe. Our next one is the Melody Market all-dayer at the Loft on Sunday 23rd March. See Upcoming Shows for further details.
Keep your dials tuned to Herd FM for further 2008 gig news as it breaks.
