Biography
Pocket Satellite consists of Maya Zosmer, Carl Haag, Joe O'Brien and Tom Dixon. They formed in Sheffield in September 2007 after a chance meeting at a University open mic night. They have been gigging frequently throughout the UK ever since, building up a strong fan base, especially in Sheffield.Their music is characterised by strong harmonies from vocalists and acoustic guitarists Maya and Carl. Joe and Tom provide the bass guitar and drums respectively, completing their melodic and vibrant sound. The band draw influences from artists such as Death Cab For Cutie, Sufjan Stevens and Fionn Regan.
Recently, Pocket Satellite independently recorded, mixed and produced a full length album, Disappearing Stars.
