winterbloom

Winterbloom is a musical weave of rhythmic guitar, loops, and sultry, soaring voice. The project was created during the dark months of the year as a response to the winter hiatus of Shannon’s first and long term band. Needing a musical outlet as well as a self-contained project that could tour without limitations, Winterbloom was created.In the fall of 2005 Winterbloom toured Europe playing shows in Budapest Hungary, many towns of Italy, Hamburg and Leipzig Germany, and Aalbourg Denmark.Upon returning to Toronto she started to experiment with loop unit devices and played around with harmonizing vocals and creating guitar loops. This opened up a new way of song writing and singing for Winterbloom. Through 2006 she started playing shows with her newly developed sound. Several of these shows were with the Future of Music collective - a night dedicated to showcasing artists using loop based technology.Winterbloom relocated to London England in the fall of 2007 and began to tour Europe once more in early 2008. So far she has played shows in Belgium - Ghent and Antwerp - and a number of shows in Northern Italy. More shows are in the works with plans to record back home in Toronto when she returns to enjoy a Canadian summer.
