Unbreakable songs

About Me

I was born in Winnipeg on the dark end of November. Lived in Cochenour, in North Ontario, and moved south to Georgetown when I was ten. Failed school, kissed a girl, drank some beer, got my license-- lost it--met Sean Cotton and formed The Undesirables. Wrote lyrics to about sixty songs and then tried writing one alone. I wrote a tune called Record Lonesome Night and I'm working on one now called Better Him Than Me. There's a whole bunch in between, but that brings us right up to date concerning me.I call whoever plays with me The Sundowners. It's an Australian expression, referring to drifters who travel from place to place, showing up before sundown looking for work. If hired on for the next day they eat a good hot meal and have a bed for the night. Before sunrise they're gone, lighting for the next twilit-house to ask again for work. I don't think I could handle this life-style because it requires getting up early. I'd rather take my chances writing songs and playing music with my friends. The Sundowners are currently Corin Raymond, Treasa Levasseur, David Baxter, with Joe Phillips or Darcy Yates on upright bass. The Sundowners began as Corin Raymond, Marc Roy, and James Thomson. Briefly boasted Bob Hannan, whose name should be on my influences list. We played every Saturday at The Tranzac for two years, at which time we moved to The Cameron House, where we still are, playing every Thursday from 6-8pm.
