About Me

MY BIOG; I Started learning violin and piano young because my parents were both musicians. from age 14, National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain on Violin. Then Violin in Dylan Fowler's band FREVO in my late teens, playing many of the U.K. jazz festivals. Then took up the drum kit. At 24 started singing, writing songs and producing what i'd written at home. Plus lots of drumming touring on drum kit (and backing vocals) with Lewis Taylor, Mandalay and Touch and Go. As a result played on T.V. shows such as Jules Holland, Top of the Pops as Touch and Go reached number four with the track "would You?") and CDUK. I have also played Violin on plenty of different recordings and albums and toured recently with the Ian Mcmillan thus playing recently on Loose Ends. I am going to be playing Violin, singing and playing some percussion in Timon of Athens at the Globe Shakespeare Theatre for 31 shows between this coming July and October, among other bits and bobs. Recording work wise, my violin, tracked a few times to create a string section effect, is on the current theme of the BBC World Service. The same multi tracking thing strings wise was done on these songs as you can hear. If you're a producer or recording artist, you can have a listen to the dimension i can add to your tracks on www.sovra.com.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: sovra.com
Band Members: No band members as such, mostly myself, overdubbed playing drums/kbds/violin/singing. Dylan Fowler plays guitar on For A Song and Little Hand and i recorded them in his studio... Fallen Angel i co produced with Paul Inder giving me the chance to play drums too...Paul is one of the most incredible producers i've ever worked with and i'm gutted that he's now in L.A, though happy he's appreciated there. Circle and Tia i produced myself; in my bedroom, with a vs880, an Akai s1000 and a korg Trinity and Mic...and my violin..and then dragged Mike upstairs to overdub the bass to give it a fatter sound.
Influences: Voice wise, Aretha, Eva Cassidy, Alison Krauss and many others. Violin wise, mainly Itzhak Perlman. Drums, Bernard Purdie, Dennis Chambers.
Type of Label: None
