About Me

The Battery Kids exploded onto the Adelaide music scene in 2005. The four members met while studying music and recorded a three-track demo. The CD saw them gig all around town, supporting such acts as The Vasco Era, Whiskey Go Goâ€™s, The Inches, Special Patrol and many more. Their tightly spun, theatric performances left audiences aroused and wanting more.
In late 2006, T.B.K. recorded their debut EP Requiem for a Nightmare, combining haunting melodies and orchestration with an urgency and catchiness usually reserved for the dance floor. The independent release earned them Triple J airplay and 5-star reviews in Australian street magazines and newspapers. Requiem for a Nightmare took the band to #7 on the 3D radio charts and #2 on the Australian Mp3 Charts.
Currently, the band has been touring to further promote Requiem whilst beginning pre-production for their debut album, with the hopes that it will see them signed to a major record label. Catch the band playing regular shows around Adelaide and Melbourne.

The Battery Kids star guitarist/vocalist Shannon Juvan, pianist Bowl Lipson, Bass player Tom Kreig and drummer Shannon Simpson.
