Flopsicle

About Me

Popsicle is a monthly indie-pop extravaganza that was unleashed in May of 2008. More than just another band night, Popsicle brings together Art, Photography, Film and childish antics for a fun night for every Adelaide indie lass and lad!
TRACY WHEELER BAND
Tracy Wheeler Band is a three piece pop outfit spreading the love on the streets of Adelaide. They formed in March 2008 and have had a busy year gigging around the city, playing recently at Radio Adelaide’s Live Music Festival.
SOMETHING ON BROADWAY
At the end of 2007, vocalist Adam Barnett-Pierce, fresh from 7 years of touring the U.S. and Canada (as part of bands such as Ours, who were signed to Dreamworks, and worked with Rick Rubin, Tidal, and other musical collaborations) joined forces with local Adelaide song-writing brothers Jez and Ray Goldring to form a formidable piano-inspired pop/rock outfit. Complete with Ryan Sanders on lead guitar and Brett Benham on bass, these guys pride themselves on their refined pop sensibilities, catchy melodies, 3-part harmonies, and an energetic live show. Toe-tapping goodness.
BIRD LANTERN (TWILIGHT BAZAAR)
Bird Lantern are Greig Thomson and Al Thumm from South of Oz - homecooked backyard jigsaw funkin' since 2000! We sail over a sea of loop-centric sampling and earthy home recording. Fans of Beck, the Beta Band, DJ Shadow, Kid Koala, etc will love our irreverent grooves, spicy melodies, and tasty beats. It all began with our first album, the Epic Dud, released around 2001 to all our friends...to much confusion and hilarity...It truly was an epic adventure in sound. After a partying hiatus, we regrouped, refined our sound, and got picked up by local label Kinderbox Records to release our first amazing album in 2007 (self titled), followed by a free online EP (Dud) featuring choice cuts from the Epic Dud. We're currently working on the amazing second album - Bazaar, due for release early 2009 - which we humbly predict will blow everyone away with its sweet spectrum of samples, beats, quirky breaks and lyrical miracles the likes of which ye have never heard!
