Reading, writing, indoor soccer, history, traveling, magic (not magick), games, podcasting, cooking, tea. Being a writer, I develop intense interests in certain things and just research the heck out of them, so I know a little about a lot of things, and a lot about a few things. I'm pretty much game for anything in the way of new experiences.
Dancing, dancing, dancing. I've been taking lessons in Salsa and swing since the summer of '06 and love it. I'm usually out dancing at least twice a week. I have a mailing list for folks who like to dance and arrange outting approximately once every three weeks. (If you want to be on the list, drop me a line with your email address.)
Salma Hayek (no, not for the obvious reason), the Dalai Lama, Medal of Honor winners (real life MH winners, not gamers), any of the astronauts who've been to another planet. Anyone who has the courage of his/her convictions and volunteers time and money to help others without any hope of thanks, just to say thanks and pitch in.
Jethro Tull, Alan Parsons Project, Warren Zevon, various soundtracks. Locally (Phoenix) I like listening to Irish Music.
Star Wars, The Indiana Jones films, Jet Li/Jackie Chan films, various samurai films, Road to Perdition, ID4, Unforgiven, Shawn of the Dead, Shaolin Soccer--it depends a lot on my mood, but generally I like action-adventure and escapist films.
I don't own a TV. (Okay, I buy the DVDs of The Sopranos and watch them on my computer. Sue me.)
Fiction:
Anything by Stephen King, Steven Erickson, Stephen R. Donaldson. Other favorite authors are: Rex Stout, Larry Bond, Dennis L. McKiernan, Donald Westlake (and Richard Stark).
Non-fiction:
I read by subject areas: politics, history, science and technology. I read a lot about military history, especially contemporary material and World War I (for reasons a shrink could charge me enough to buy boat to figure out). True crime and serial killers is also a favorite area of reading. And any sort of small collection of trivia.
