Dorks'R'Us

About Me

Pure dork. But the kind of dork you'd let borrow a stapler and KNOW he'd bring it back. Or if he didn't, he'd have a good reason. And that reason would probably not bear talking about, but it'd be a good one. And years later someone might come up to you and thank you for letting him borrow that stapler because it changed his life somehow.Yeah, that's it. And on the hot sheet, 5 things about AL:
1 - lost his leg in an accident - no, it wasn't lopped off, he really just 'lost it' and is still looking for it 2 - big fanboy - loves Star Wars and junk 3 - has 3 gorgeous daughters (no you can never date them) and 2 more on the way (you can't date them either) 4 - dug up a body once (but it was archaeology, so it was 'normal' - remember that the next time you hide a body to make it 'archaeological') 5 - got married by Elvis in Vegas with Vader giving away the bride, who is still a hottie

Katie's Birthday

Yesterday was Katie's b-day. It was hard having that land on Mother's Day, but I made sure Kathy had a good day first then waited until she went to bed to reflect. I sat with a box of 8mm home movies...

2007 is great!

Okay, Valentine's Day obviously isn't my day. Woke up at midnight to find the hot water heater ruptured. Water is now all over the downstairs closet and pouring into the living room. I ran a hose to d...

Mom's moved out

Just as we got home from the Holidays it was back to grim reality. My brother tells me that mom, who has lived with me and Kathy since dad passed last January, had a minor stroke episode while we were...

Meeting George Lucas

Sunday Dec 31 will go down as one of the greatest days in my life. It saw my troopers marching in armor for Mr. Lucas himself in a dress rehearsal that he was said to be very impressed by. It also saw...

long weary trip home

Just got back from a 24-hour round-trip to NY to take my step-daughter Emily back to her father. Totally pisses me off how the guy changed his mind at the last minute and asked US to take her back - s...

woohoo - new job

Well I got the call last week from the Governor's Office asking me to join their network team. This is a real answer to our prayers, as I've been languishing at the CIO for some time now without any p...

Lost a friend today

I just learned that a friend and coworker, Mike Mathias, was found dead this weekend. Suspicious was the way the authorities described it, in the river with a gun shot wound to the head. Heavy stuff. ...

Space-man Al reporting in. Current status: still married to a girl that looks like a mail-order fantasy bride. 10-year old Allie and 5-year-old Emily doing just fine. Two more clones on the way - Kath...
