MICHAEL AURIT IN CONCERT: Live In Scottsdale!
With an infectious personal style and the poise and nuance of a born entertainer, Michael has a unique sensibility for making some of the greatest music ever written entirely his own. Michael has quickly become the talk of the New York City music scene. Most recently seen at Manhattan hotspots “Birdland,†“Roth’s,†“Don’t Tell Mama,†and as a guest artist with the Boston Pops Orchestra, this young singer is making a name for himself among new fans and critics alike with his fresh and original flair. And everyone agrees that he is on the verge of very big things to come.
Born in Philly and raised in Phoenix, Michael's fascination with music began at the very young age of five, when he figured out how to use his parents' old record player. He immersed himself in their record collection absorbing the sounds of the great Nat ‘King’ Cole, Sammy Davis Jr, Mel Torme, Lou Rawls and Ol’ Blue Eyes himself, finding inspiration from a world of timeless music that defined a century of song.
During his years studying music at The Boston Conservatory and in most recent years since living in New York City, Michael has managed to spend his summer’s back in Phoenix where his performances gained him critical acclaim and an ever growing following in his hometown. Last summer, Michael performed a four week, completely sold-out run of his own “Rockin’ & Swingin’ with Michael Aurit,†at Desert Stages Theatre in Scottsdale. He and his hot five-piece band brought down the house nightly and critics raved that Michael truly “Brings back a taste of the Big Apple.†(Kyle Lawson, AZ Republic)
Michael is glad to be back in Arizona and has joined up with some of the valley’s hottest young jazz musicians to hit the scene in decades. Together they exude New York City style and sophistication as they redefine the ‘jazz standard’ and leave people asking not only, “Who IS this kid,†but, “How did he put together this phenomenal band!â€
