DJ FAROUCHE/DJ FEROUCHE/IAN VAN BOORN/OUTBOUND
FAROUCHE gained valuable industry experience in 1987-94, in Melbourne, Australia, club promoting & hosting his own radio show on KISS 90 FM, moving back to London in 1995, hooking up with top house outfit DREAM TEEM (radio 1), from 1998-2000, honing his production & remixing skills on their house label imprint DFL records, but not before doing his first commissioned remix of S-express The return (rhythm king) back in 1996.
Whilst producing with the Dream Teem, Farouche was signed to Concorde international artistes as a DJ, Thus putting Farouche on the international Dj circuit, always being booked as the headline this work took him to places like Russia, Malta, Greece & Bulgaria. His exciting & invigorating dj style behind the decks has won him admirers professionally and publicly alike.
2000 farouche started working in the Essential Studios (Hoxton Whores) producing and remixing along side Gary Dedman which inc artistes like, Michael Jackson, Massive Attack, Alison Limerick, Ice T, and David Bowie releasing tracks under several different monikers, Amnesia All stars and Outbound, the latter being the name used when remixing the huge anthem “I Wanna Be U†Chocolate Puma “outbound dubâ€(cream records).
2001 Farouche purchased & moved into his own private studio, where he had the good fortune to work with some of the uk’s top pop producers like Tony Briscoe (Craig David, Beverly Knight), Tony Mathews (Soul to Soul), Rick Wilde, and Kenny Thomas (crazy world). Further honing his musical and production skills, Which gave him the opportunity of helping produce & mix Oxide’s new single featuring Harvey, Romeo, and Aliesha (Misteeq), which made record of the week Radio 1 and released summer 2005.
2006 Farouche having his 1st release for a while, I Won’t Let U….. (no bull records) a sample taken from le freak (chic) & turning it into a funky house stomper, featuring the awesome vocal talents of Viveen Wray (N-Trance, Toolroom, Simon Web), he went on to remix several more chic tracks, as requested by Warner Music. Summer of 2006 farouche secured a weekly residency @ sin London, working with some of London’s finest house Dj's & house brands, his contract ending Jan 2007.
2007 was hectic for this busy artist, March saw farouche jet of to south beach Miami for the winter conference, returning with renewed vigour and excitement for his dj and production projects. Farouche won the 1st round of the movida corona world dj tournament at the egg, London. He had releases on event one records with ‘accesso’ also producing and releasing the History EP under the monika Ian Van Boorn (154 records) this ep got widespread dj support from the likes of Seb Fontaine, Jon carter, Oliver lang & Gerard Russchenberg to name a few, which has also included rotation on ministry radio with Andy Morris (Narcotic Thrust).
2008 has already got off to flying start for Farouche, winning an American based remix competition of ‘Take Me Away’ (Detroit authentic records) which is getting a world wide release on the labels remix album (release date tbc), & is busy preparing is next release ‘Full Frontal’ (154 records) an electro stomper with mixes from Stimpy (power) due out around the end of march……..
