My name is Sammy B and I am 35 years YOUNG.! I live in 'THE SHIRE' and have just recently completed my degree in media.. HURRAH.! I have 2 shows on UCA Radio, 87.7FM and DAB and now ONLINE. www.macstrems.com, every Friday between 1-3pm and Tuesday evening 7- 9pm. On my Friday 'Homegrown' Show ANYTHING goes but the main feature is CHEESE.!! Everyone who knows me will tell you I have a CHEESE obsession. I can't get enough of it.! I do 'live cheese tasting' where I am joined by special guests each week to sample the dairy delight. I also do Celebrity Cheese Tasting; I have CHEESED The View, The Sunshine Underground, Mark Radcliffe, Deftones and many others. I take the CHEESE to the bands and we sample them together and it all gets captured by a trusty camera.!
Tuesday Eveings show Is LIVE n UNLEASHED with THE UNKNOWN GENERATION. This show promotes unsigned and new bands/artists. So if you want airplay on my shows or want to come in and play live or want to taste the CHEESE... GET IN TOUCH.!
Having a radio show is great. I play music I like and eat CHEESE.. It don't get much better than that.. does it..?
I got into radio 2 years ago at Uni as I got fed up of working with other students doing video production.. The lazy arse's that they are.! With Radio you only have yourself to blame if your show is shit.. Mine Never Is.. Ahem.!
I was recently appointed station manager of local community radio station Girvan FM unfortunately the contract was only for the 8 weeks it was running. But Hey It Was Fantastic.! I got such a buzz working with people who were enthusiastic about radio. A big thank-you to all the volunteers at Girvan FM without whom the station would not broadcast..
I would LOVE a job in Radio full time. It's my passion. Failing that I would LOVE to be a full time CHEESE taster. That would be a dream come true. Failing that I would LOVE to be a PIRATE.! This has been a dream of mine since I was a young girl. Failing that I would LOVE to be a FAIRY.! Sometimes I really think I am. But the ultimate job for me would be FAIRY CHEESE TASTING PIXIE PIRATE D.J.!!
