About Me

AirSpiel are a Glasgow based indie pop rock band formed in early 2006, consisting of five members: songwriters David Merry (Vocals and Guitars), John Harris (Vocals and Guitars), Mark Adams (Keyboards), Stuart Ross (Bass) and Cameron Meiklejohn (Drums). Although based in Glasgow, all members are originally from Ayr.
AirSpiel have played many gigs across the UK since formation, performing in renowned venues such as Glasgow’s Carling Academy and King Tuts. AirSpiel have generated an ever increasing loyal following of fans and continue to attract larger crowds to each event they perform at.
AirSpiel’s sound can only be described with one word: Epic. With subtle musical blends of the 80’s and 90’s, driving rhythm section provided by Ross and Meiklejohn, and Adams swirling sonic landscapes, a platform has been created to maximise the potential of Harris and Merry’s song writing capabilities.
In 2007, AirSpiel organised and hosted a sell-out show at the ABC2 in Glasgow launching their self released debut album “In Another Life”, and have already found orders coming in from as far afield as Japan, America and Switzerland!! AirSpiel also performed at Rock at the Racecourse, a new event associated with the Burns an' a' That Festival in the lad’s hometown of Ayr, which witnessed AirSpiel sharing the stage with Scottish legends Deacon Blue and Irish rock veterans The Saw Doctors.
AirSpiel have also hit the radio airwaves courtesy of XFM’s Jim Gellatly, who featured the band on his X-posure show. Furthermore AirSpiel were crowned as XFM Uploaded Artist of the Week, voted by listeners of the XFM Music:Response show with Martin Bate. AirSpiel have also featured on RAPAL on BBC Radio nan Gaidheal and Mel Walkers daytime show on West FM.
At present, the band are actively recording new material and gigging harder than ever with dates around the UK with many more to be confirmed throughout the year. AirSpiel are also seeking management / promotional opportunities to further develop the bands status and promote their new material in what they hope will be an enthralling 2009.
