Since very young Viktor Alzina tinkered with found objects
from trash bins and modified household things.
He played bass guitar and screamed in a teenage Hardcore Punk band
which was fun while it lasted.
He then began to experiment with portable keyboards,
distortion pedals and electric devices.
He later opened up an old record player, modifying and adapting it
to spin speeches from very rare vinyl in slow speeds.
He made tape loops from promo cassettes to create ghastly atmospheres
and made percussion instruments out of tin cans and metal tubes. When he had access to professional electronic equipment,
he manipulated it in less traditional ways.
His first electronic music project was called "Scheintot"
(German for seemingly dead).
That was a raw mix of nostalgic melodies and monotonous sequences
with martial styled beats and intense noise.
For a short period of time Scheintot could have been described as EBM
but soon after this, he began to explore composition based only in noise.
In 2001 he performed in several art galleries and cultural centers
under the moniker "NAS_Cas Tra Sion" which was an experimental attack. Then his beats became faster and harder and so "Vegetal Is" was born
as a representation of violent sound-scrapes and rhythmic noise.
Gradually, a ritualistic musical form emerged with tribal and ethnic rhythms
to reconcile a primitive groove in modern day music with technology.Slowly and gradually he has matured in his composition and direction.
Vegetal Is an expression through sounds of his most introspective search.
Through this time of self exploration and subtle movement,
he has also been a member of the following bands / recording projects:
Into Ether, Cats On CracK, De:Construcción, Lemniscata, HMV 52
and has remixed tracks for Rugitus Æternam, Epidemia and El Niño Helado.
