23rd april 2008:"Devotchka.s Conundrum is sadly announcing that it is stopping its activities for the time being.
'A Hole Of One's Own', the track that Devotchka.s Conundrum has contributed to Black Sun Productions' new studio album, 'The Milky Smell Of Phantom Sperm', which will be released by Old Evropa Cafe' on september 23rd 2008, will be Devotchka.s Conundrum's final act for now. (Further details about this release can be found in the 'past present future stuff' section of our website and in the 'blog' section of this page. Nearer the time of release more details on how to order the album will be given).
There is some good news as well though!
One half of Devotchka.s Conundrum has started working on a new project under the name "Pardon My Early Exit; Hope You Survive!" .

they mix analogue and digital equipment, electroacoustic techniques with electronics, toys and circuit bent objects with vocals and noise.
loud or quiet, clean or distorted, they have no preconceptions.
in their world sound and image work together or against each other.
hearing becomes a spiderweb to capture the other four senses.
like kids in a park they use whatever catches their attention and makes them have fun.
they get lost and then they try to find the way back.

in the past three years they have performed in various occasions in London, among these at the 'Oui Le Bruit' sonic art showcase, as part of Scamleys -a temporary anarchist toy shop-, for site-specific mixed media collective Omsk, at the launch of Sudden Infant's album 'Invocation of the aural slave gods' and for NoSignal, often mixing real-time sampling and loops with interactive visuals that involve the audience actively. they also created 'the ugly monster by the lake', an installation at Yorkshire National Sculpture Park, produced short films, as well as radiophonic pieces broadcasted on Resonance Fm and IllFm Radio.
