About Me

A native Californian, Jordyn Tyson is best known to New York as the host and producer of “Caught in the Act” - originally titled “Unsung Heroes” - an innovative bi-weekly radio program which ran every other Friday night for 8 years on listener-sponsored WBAI-99.5FM/NYC ending in 1992. The show pioneered efforts to provide radio exposure for unsigned bands and rising new acts, helping to fortify the local music scene in NYC. Featuring interviews and live in-studio performances by local talent and music legends alike, it also offered discussions with industry professionals ranging from artist managers and club owners to top record label A&R men including the renowned Clive Davis, to help new talent discover the inner workings of the art of the “deal.”
Tyson ended each show with an animal right's segment, which promoted anti-vivisection, spay & neutering, vegetarianism and encouraged people to adopt strays – but with commitemnt, knowledge and forethought. Jordyn combined intriguing interviews, exceptional music and celebrated guests - weaving themes and thoughts together - with insight and humor.
Jordyn then went to the other end of the spectrum and produced advertising campaigns for the “Special Events Division” at WINS-1010AM radio in New York after being called on to create and manage their in-house telemarketing team, a novel concept at the time. Later, after guest hosting for a few shows with a well known local private eye, she subsequently went on to host and produce another show of her own called “Angels Work” on WGBB-1240AM in Merrick, NY. This time she spotlighted individuals and organizations that helped worthy causes, protecting children, animals and the environment from abuse, as well as non-profits offering support to those in need.
Jordyn has continued to write, produce, and voice radio spots and has just started "Get Radio Ready"a division of Dancingmind Productions which is small production company for radio commercials You can visit GRR at getradioreadynow.googlepages.com/ As a voice-over artist she has done radio plays, story-tellings, play readings, PSA’s and independent films. She has emceed and produced benefits and even had a hand in booking and producing a local music cable show. She has also worked at notable record labels including Arista Records, and has lent her abilities to production companies including Nile Rodgers Productions, public relations firms and a high-end jingle house.
Jordyn has managed bands and solo artists including The Microtones, Michael Zentner, and Percy Jones, the famed bass player (Brian Eno/Brand X) and has recently done some work for Ian Lloyd 's Stories - most known for their international 1 hit "Brother Louise" among others. She has resided on the Boards of The Musician’s Union‘s - Local 802’s “Rock & R&B Committee,” The Staten Island Center for the Arts, and New York-New Rock. She has volunteered her time and talents for many charities including “City Santa,” “The Lighthouse” and “Songs of Love.”
Having always felt a commitment to the community, she believes we all have a great responsibility to preserve integrity on the air and off. “Sharing our experiences and knowledge with one another is the greatest gift we can give – and receive!”
Passionate about using sound, music and voice for healing, she is planning to record music and healing tapes this year.

Cuddles needs a loving home!
This beautiful, young (not more than 1 year old) kitty needs a loving home. Turned up on my mother’s doorstep, she has tested negative for feline aids and HIV. Soft, luscious fur, loves to be held--a real lap cat. It is not certain if she has been spayed. Probably separated from her mother too soon, she loves to knead--very gently. Though she’s a bit uncertain, she seems ok with dogs and cats. Please forward to anyone you know who might provide a loving home. Thanks!
