About Me

Jon Ihle, a New York based drummer raised in Staten Island, fell in love with music at an early age. Listening to his brothers oldies records, Jon discovered the likes of The Cleftones, The Drifters and Little Anthony. He was also influenced by the Beatles, the British Invasion, and the back beat of Motown. Once he sat behind his first drum kit, he never looked back.

After hearing bands like Jethro Tull, YES and Genesis, Jon found his niche in progressive rock and later jazz fusion...performing locally with well known rock bands. Chance led him to meet an agent who introduced him to the world of R&B and Oldie Rock shows, by taking him on the road as a valet and stage hand - for the very groups he listened to as a child. A few years later, Jon was performing with these same stars on stage.
He has continued to tour and record with numerous artists including some of Rock & Rolls Hall of Famers such as CHUCK BERRY, the FOUR TOPS, The DRIFTERS, BO DIDLEY, The CRESTS, The RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS,The CRYSTALS,The MARVELETTES, PAUL GRIFFIN, The LEFT BANKE, IAN LLOYD of STORIES, Ray Bennett of British rockers FLASH and MOOGY KLINGMAN from Bette Midler and Utopia, and the list goes on. Jon has played in venues around the world, capturing the acclaim of audiences and colleagues alike.
Versatile as he is talented, Jon can also be seen around town playing bass or guitar and when he is not gigging on the NYC circuit, he is composing & recording. He has also coordinated and toured with Golden Oldies shows, with the original artists keeping the sounds of yesterday alive.
Jon is currently working on new songs for his next IHLEFACTOR recordings, which will feature a few old friends as well as new ones.

Jons background in progressive rock, R&B and funk has molded his powerful unique style - the Ihle Factor - as his friends like to call it. It is a culmination of his influences, experiences and dynamic feel, which reflect his spiritual gift of musical expression. These factors allow him to be pliable and profound in any project.
