The Biography

~Part I~

It all began on a sixth of December, a long time ago, when Philippe’s home crumbled under the raging fire. He then was left without any material possessions and everything he worked for was now turned to ashes. After many sleepless nights and flaming nightmares, after many hours of wondering what the future holds for him, a dawning fantasy rose and new coloured birds began to sing from the ruins the fire created. A new beginning was about to happen and a second rejuvenating chance about to be created. So Philippe got himself a new keyboard and then planted the seeds of a dream which would later on be called Anemonia.

Afterwards, as Philippe was playing on his new keyboard in his new humble bedroom, someone knocked on the door. Philippe then wondered who could it be, so he opened and saw a person he did not know. The unknown person complimented the melodies he could hear through the door and mentioned the fact he plays and sweeps the guitar and he is looking for a band. Philippe was pleasantly surprised since he knew he had to find an agile guitarist and the simple thought that this person he is looking for would come and knock on his bedroom door was very amusing for him. So they introduced themselves and Philippe learned that the unknown person’s name is Adam. Philippe & Adam then played on their chosen instruments together and felt this feeling only music can offer. Ever since, they practice this musical ritual as frequently as possible.

Philippe & Adam then thought adding a bass guitar could enrich the songs and give them what we may call a melodic foundation. So Guillaume, an old friend of Philippe, was contacted. Guillaume and Philippe both played in a long forgotten band years ago. After all this time they decided to play together once again and they noticed how the chemistry was still and always there. Guillaume then took part in the musical rituals Philippe & Adam practiced and all were very happy to feel this feeling only music can offer.

Then Philippe, Adam & Guillaume thought it was time to find a drummer to add a beating heart to the songs. They looked and searched all around town until one night where they met Simon in a dark tavern in Montreal. They talked about nothing and everything and the search for a drummer was mentioned. Simon then said he can play the drums and thought the project sounded interesting. So he joined the musical rituals Philippe, Adam & Guillaume were making. This was in September 2005 and ever since, Philippe, Adam, Guillaume & Simon practice those rituals as frequently as possible.

Then Anemonia came to be with the No Looking Back demo, which was finished in November 2005 and online in January 2006. Johanne Pineault is the one who sang on this demo but she then left the band in February 2007.

~Part II~

The beginning of the month of February 2007 was very cold and dark for Anemonia. There no longer was a singer accompanying the melodies while the band undertook a grand voyage to Iapetus to record the pre-production of their first album. So Philippe, Adam, Guillaume and Simon found themselves wandering in the skies between Saturn and Iapetus. And then, at one point, it started to rain tiny luminous meteorites right under our eyes. The desire to jump, to hang on to them and to let ourselves go was very present, like smelling the odor of a good meal when you are hungry. However, the enormous mystery that the luminous rain invoked awoke our cautiousness, preventing us from grabbing on to a meteorite… except for Guillaume who firmly held on to one.

Then no one heard of him for many months. Apparently he found himself on an abandoned planet where only two people lived: an intergalactic farmer and his wife who was a cosmonaut.

So during many weeks, there were only three remaining members of the band who practiced the musical rituals: the drums, the guitar and the keyboard who was always on the piano sound. In spite of the winter’s terrible coldness, our local was always brightly enflamed. Simon, Adam and Philippe still felt this feeling only music offers in each and every ritual.

Since there is a connection on Earth’s Internet on Iapetus, Philippe learned that there was a certain soprano coloratura lady-constellation named Cassiopée who will metamorphose herself for only one night in Montreal. So Philippe decided to go back on Earth to assist to this event. A snowstorm of a great violence hit the city that night and the intensity in the air was almost frightful. A constellation was in town! Then the concert began. Many very talented artists showed their gracious abilities, sometimes in cuddlesome manners and sometimes taking grandiose paths. Finally came the moment when Cassiopée took possession of the stage to interpret her rock version of Mozart’s Queen of the Night in French. The song is rather short but Cassiopée had enough time to release her magic and charm hundreds if not thousands of stars in the lovely venue. And Philippe, under this force, sat speechless on his chair and completely bedazzled. He had just been a witness to the lady-constellation’s great powers.

So he waited until the end of the concert to congratulate the singer. She was surrounded by many other people who also wished to compliment her. So Philippe made himself a passage through the crowd and managed to get right next to the lady-constellation. Cassiopée turned over and greeted him. Philippe held out his hand and told her how her performance was simply divine. She shook his hand and suddenly everything turned black around them and the clocks stopped turning. Then, a fountain of light sparkles gushed from their handshake. Cassiopée silently looked at Philippe carefully and finally she asked him if Anemonia needs a new singer. Amazed, he answered: “Yes! And the band is currently in the process of recording on Iapetus”. Cassiopée then offered to lend her starry voice to the band and Philippe immediately accepted. She explained afterwards that in order to do so; we simply had to meet her when she is in her original shape, as a constellation. We will also be able to find her between Ursa Major and Ursa Minor.

So Philippe promptly returned on Iapetus to reveal the news to Adam and Simon. They were very happy to hear such a nice story. 202 hours later, the band was ready to go meet her. She was dancing between the two constellations and was already singing an Anemonia song. She then learned all the songs the band was currently recording in two turns of a sand glass. Everyone then merrily returned on Iapetus together.

Philippe, Simon, Adam and Cassiopée practiced many musical rituals together and all were very happy to feel this feeling only music can give. But now, there was a new sensitivity to the songs that was greatly appreciated. Anemonia was from now on endowed by the grand magic of the lady-constellation.

While all of this was happening, Guillaume was still stranded on his abandoned planet. But on a lovely day he found the way to return on Iapetus with the help of the cosmonaut who also resided on this bizarre planet. But the enormous distance separating the bassist from the rest of the band worried the astral explorer because her shuttle was getting old and tired. So Guillame and the intergalactic farmer worked heavily, hardly and strongly to solidify the vehicle. They obviously accomplished their task with success because one night, during one of our musical rituals, Guillaume appeared with his instrument to the band’s local and everyone was very happy. Since that night, Philippe, Adam, Simon, Cassiopée and Guillaume are all very thrilled to feel this feeling only music can offer each and every time they practice their musical rituals.

So the recording of the pre-production has now returned to its normal course with Cassiopée on board. We cannot yet set a precise date for its release. But since we have a connection on Earth’s Internet on Iapetus, we were able to upload the "All Yet to be Born" demo.

~Chapitre I~

Tout a débuté le six du mois de décembre d’il y a bien longtemps lorsque l’habitat de Philippe s’écroula sous la rage des flammes. Il se retrouva ensuite sans possession matérielle et tout ce qu’il amassa au fil du temps n’était devenu que cendres. Ainsi, il est devenu sans passé. A la suite de plusieurs nuits blanches et de cauchemars enflammés, après avoir admiré le ciel d’hiver pendant des heures et des heures en se demandant ce que le futur pouvait bien lui réserver maintenant, une fantaisie jaillit et plusieurs oiseaux de nouvelles couleurs se mirent à chanter à partir de là où le feu créa les ruines. Un nouveau commencement et une deuxième chance des plus rafraîchissantes étaient sur le point de naître. Philippe s’est ensuite procuré un nouveau synthétiseur et planta les graines d’un rêve qui plus tard s’appellera Anemonia.

Ensuite, pendant que Philippe pianotait sur son nouveau synthétiseur dans sa nouvelle chambre d’une grande humilité, quelqu’un cogna à sa porte. Philippe se demanda qui cela pouvait bien être, alors il ouvrit et vit une personne qu’il ne connaissait aucunement. Cet inconnu complimenta les mélodies qu’il pouvait entendre à travers la porte émanant du synthétiseur de Philippe. Cet inconnu mentionna ensuite qu’il se débrouille bien à la guitare, qu’il aime s’amuser à balayer dessus et qu’il recherche une troupe musicale pour s’y joindre. Philippe fût très agréablement surpris puisqu’il savait qu’il devait trouver quelqu’un d’agile sur sa guitare et de penser que cette personne viendrait cogner à sa propre porte de chambre l’amusait bien. Alors ils se présentèrent et c’est ainsi que Philippe apprit qu’Adam est le prénom de cet inconnu. Par la suite, Philippe & Adam jouèrent sur leurs instruments respectifs ensemble et ressentirent ce sentiment que seulement la musique peut offrir. Depuis cette journée, ils pratiquent ce rituel musical aussi souvent que possible.

Philippe & Adam se sont ensuite dit qu’ajouter une guitare basse aux chansons pourrait les enrichir et leur donner ce que l’on pourrait appeler une fondation mélodique. Alors Guillaume, un bon vieil ami à Philippe, fût contacté. Philippe & Guillaume ont jadis joués ensemble dans un groupe qui git désormais dans les oubliettes de l’inconscience. Et après tout ce temps, ils décidèrent de jouer de leurs instruments respectifs ensemble pour enfin remarquer que la chimie était toujours belle et bien présente. Guillaume ensuite prit part aux rituels musicaux que Philippe & Adam pratiquaient. Tous furent heureux de ressentir ce sentiment que seulement la musique peut offrir.

Puis Philippe, Adam & Guillaume trouvèrent que le moment était opportun de trouver un batteur afin d’ajouter un c--ur battant aux chansons. Ils cherchèrent et fouillèrent partout à travers la contrée jusqu’à la nuit où ils rencontrèrent Simon dans une sombre taverne de Montréal. Ils discutèrent de tout et de rien et le sujet de la recherche de batteur apparut. C’est alors que Simon expliqua qu’il a l’habitude de frapper sur sa batterie et que le projet dont nous parlions semblait fort intéressant. Alors il s’est joint à un des rituels musicaux que Philippe, Adam & Guillaume pratiquaient. Tous furent heureux de ressentir ce sentiment que seulement la musique peut offrir. Cela était en septembre 2005 et depuis ce temps, Philippe, Adam, Guillaume & Simon pratiquent ces rituels le plus souvent possible.

Anemonia vint ensuite au monde avec le démo intitulé No Looking Back. Ce démo fût terminé en novembre 2005 et disponible sur l’internet en janvier 2006. Johanne Pineault est celle qui chante sur ce démo mais elle a quitté le groupe en février 2007.

~Chapitre II~

Le début du mois de février 2007 fut très sombre et froid pour Anemonia. Il n’y avait plus de chanteuse pour accompagner les mélodies pendant que le groupe entreprenait un grand voyage vers Iapetus pour y enregistrer la pré-production de son premier album. Alors Philippe, Adam, Guillaume et Simon vagabondèrent dans les cieux principalement situés entre Saturne et Iapetus. Et c’est alors qu’une pluie de minuscules météorites lumineuses se déferla sous nos yeux. L’envie de sauter, de s’y accrocher et de se laisser aller était très présente, tel sentir l’odeur d’un bon repas lorsque nous avons faim. Cependant, l’énorme mystère de la destination évoqua un certain dédain en nous. Alors cela fit que nous ne nous sommes pas accroché à ces météorites lumineuse... sauf pour Guillaume qui s’y aggripa à mains fermes.

Ensuite personne n’entendit parler de lui pendant plusieurs mois. Semblerait-il qu’il se serait retrouvé sur une planète abandonnée où seulement deux personnes y vivaient. Un fermier intergalactique et sa femme qui était cosmonaute.

Donc pendant plusieurs semaines, les membres du groupes pratiquèrent leurs rituels musicaux à trois : la batterie, la guitare et le synthétiseur qui était toujours sur le son du piano. Malgré le froid terriblement hivernal, notre local de pratique était toujours très enflammé. Simon, Adam et Philippe ressentirent ce sentiment que seulement la musique peut offrir à chaque rituels.

Étant donné qu’il y a une connection sur l’internet terrestre sur Iapetus, Philippe apprit qu’une certaine soprano colorature dame-constellation qui se nomme Cassiopée se métamorphosera en elle-même pour un seul soir à Montréal. Philippe décida alors de retourner aussi sur Terre pour assister à cet événement. Une tempête de neige d’une grande violence frappait la ville ce soir là et l’intensité dans l’air était à son comble. Une constellation était en ville! Et puis le concert débuta. Plusieurs artistes de grands talents démontrèrent leurs gracieuses prouesses, parfois de manières coquettes et parfois en passant par de très grandioses chemins. Puis vint le moment où Cassiopée prit possession de la scène pour y interpréter sa version rock de La Reine de la Nuit de Mozart. C’est une chanson quand même assez courte mais Cassiopée eût le temps d’attirer des centaines sinon des milliers d’étoiles dans la jolie salle. Et Philippe, sous cette force, resta assis sur sa chaise, bouche bée et complètement émerveillé. Il venait d’être témoin du grand pouvoir de la dame-constellation.

Alors il attendit la fin du concert pour aller la féliciter. Elle était entourée de plusieurs gens qui voulaient aussi la complimenter. Alors Philippe se faufila dans la foule et arriva juste à coté de la chanteuse. Cassiopée se retourna et le salua. Philippe lui tendit la main et lui dit que sa performance était tout simplement divine. Elle serra sa main et soudain tout devint noir autour d’eux et les horloges cessèrent de rouler. Ensuite, une pluie d’étincelles pâles se mit a jaillir de leurs poignée. Cassiopée regarda silencieusement Philippe pendant quelques instants et finalement elle lui demanda si Anemonia avait besoin d‘une voix pour accompagner ses mélodies. Stupéfait, il répondit que oui et que le groupe est présentement en processus d’enregistrement sur Iapetus. Cassiopée a ensuite offert de prêter sa voix au groupe et Philippe accepta immédiatement. Puis elle lui a expliqué que pour ce faire, le groupe n’avait qu’à aller la rencontrer lorsqu’elle est sous sa forme originelle, c’est-à-dire en constellation. Et elle sera facilement trouvable entre la grande et la petite ourse.

Philippe retourna donc promptement sur Iapetus pour annoncer la nouvelle à Adam et Simon. Ils furent bien content d’entendre cette histoire. 202 heures plus tard, le groupe était prêt pour aller la retrouver. Elle était effectivement en train de danser entre les deux ourses et chantait déjà une chanson d’Anemonia. Finalement, elle apprit toutes les chansons que le groupe était en train d’enregistrer en deux tours de sabliers. Puis tous retournèrent joyeusement ensemble sur Iapetus.

Philippe, Simon, Adam et Cassiopée pratiquèrent ensuite plusieurs rituels musicaux et tous furent très heureux de ressentir ce sentiment que seulement la musique peut offrir. Mais désormais il y avait une nouvelle sensibilité aux chansons qui fut très appréciée. Anemonia était désormais doté de la grande magie de la dame-constellation.

Pendant ce temps, Guillaume était encore sur sa planète abandonné. Mais un beau jour il trouva la manière de retourner sur Iapetus grâce à l’aide de la cosmonaute qui séjournait aussi sur cette drôle de planète. Mais la très grande distance qui séparait le bassiste du reste du groupe inquiéta l’exploratrice puisque sa navette devenait vieille et fatiguée. Alors Guillaume et le fermier intergalactique travaillèrent lourdement, durement et fortement afin de solidifier le véhicule. Ils accomplirent leurs tâches avec succès puisqu’en une belle nuit, pendant un de nos rituels musicaux, Guillaume apparut avec son instrument au local du groupe et tous furent très contents. Depuis cette nuit là, Philippe, Adam, Simon, Cassiopée et Guillaume sont tous très heureux de ressentir ensemble ce sentiment que seulement la musique peut offrir lors de leur rituels musicaux.

Alors l’enregistrement de la pré-production reprit son cours avec Cassiopée à bord. Nous ne pouvons encore donner de dates précises quant à sa sortie. Mais vu que nous avons une connection sur l’internet terrestre d’Iapetus, nous avons pu ajouter le démo intitulé "All Yet to be Born".
