About Me

The Carrivick Sisters are 18 year old twin sisters Laura and Charlotte Carrivick from South Devon, England. They play a variety of bluegrass instruments (mainly guitar, mandolin, dobro and fiddle) with vocal harmonies and are both songwriters. Their musical interests have varied considerably through the years meaning that elements from a variety of genres are brought into their music. The twins have been playing at home together and busking for many years and started gigging as a duo these past couple of years. Their gigs have taken them as far afield as Holland and Austria as well as all over the UK.Charlotte and Laura both also play as part of the youth bluegrass bands Blue South, www.i-soft.co.uk/bluesouth and Miles Apart www.myspace.com/milesapartbluegrass.They recorded their first CD ’My Own Two Feet’ early last year at home. They have recently recorded their second CD "Better Than 6 Cakes" at Modern World Studios. To find out how you can purchase ’Better Than 6 cakes’ contact the Carrivick Sister by email or through MySpace. You can buy ’My Own Two Feet’ from Lulu.com (http://www.lulu.com/content/830963) .We hope to see you at one of our gigs! For more information just send us a message or email us at [email protected] , thanks!_____________________________________________________ _________"I am very impressed by The Carrivick Sisters, one of the best young duos I’ve heard. The girls sing and play as one and their work is characterised by great musicality. They are not only very talented instrumentalists and singers but they write really good songs as well." - Ralph McTellCD costs £12 including p&p worldwide
