John Egan is a fine singer and highly lyrical original songwriter from Broadstairs in Kent.
John moved to Yorkshire as a child, his first job was working down the pit in South Yorkshire, realising he wasn’t a mole!, he stumbled into a pub and found folk and blues music and left the pit the next day.
John finally left Yorkshire to travel the continent playing music, with a long time friend Robin Valle in Sweden, Germany and Holland.
He has a long standing reputation for performing and running various folk and acoustic music clubs in the Kent area since 1975.
Over the years John has performed and recorded with many local people but notably the Celtic/world roots musician Tim Edey also from Broadstairs who also features on the songs on this page as producer and playing guitar alongside John.
