Overtures is a melodic hard'n'heavy band born in Gorizia in
June 2003. The original line-up was composed by Marco Falanga (guitar), Daniele Piccolo (guitar), Luka
Klanjscek (bass) e Marko Klanjscek (drums) and, after a few months, Michele Guaitoli (voice).
Overtures' first concert was in September 2003. .
From the first months of 2004 Overtures jumped into the local scene
preserving a constant quantity of live concerts in pubs, clubs, parties and
public shows.Since 2005 the band is mostly engaged in
composing new songs and in running both national and local contests, obtaining
the following results:
- Chosen for the final selection of the PopRocContest 2005
(Monfalcone, GO);
- Second place at Pagella Rock 2005 (Udine, UD);
- Regional finalists at the Emergenza Live Contest 2006
(Pordenone, PN);
- Third place at the Mastro Rock 2006 (San Giovanni
al Natisone, UD);
- Award for the Best male voice of Mastro Rock
2006 (San Giovanni al Natisone, UD);
- Winners of the Mastro Rock 2007 (San Giovanni
al Natisone, UD);
- Award for the Best voice of Mastro Rock 2007
(San Giovanni al Natisone, UD);
- Winners of the Opening Band Live Contest 2007
(Trieste, TS).
- National semi-finalists at the PopRockContest 2007

Overtures also played in many festivals during their

In May 2005 Overtures recorded their first studio demo-CD
with Andrea Rigonat (Elisa Toffoli's guitarist), containing three
original songs: Hidden Treasures, Town of Desolation and Silent Observer.
Recordings are lately completed during September 2005 at Filippo Massa and
Irene Pehlijan's private studio in Trieste with a complete re-mastering. Reviews of the CD
are available on this website.During summer 2006 Overtures
started to record their first full-length album, containing eight original
songs:
Beyond the waterfall, Toy, Faded Dream, Town of Desolation, Silent Observer,
The Self-Pitier, A Time of my Life and
Hideout, for a total length of about 40 minutes.
In May 2007 Overtures sign a contract with Videoradio, Italian
label of artists such as Andrea Braido, Faso-Meyer-Menconi (from Elio
e le storie tese) and other relevant Italians. Videoradio released the CD,
entitled "Beyond the waterfall", in July 2007 in stores in Italy and
worldwide on iTunes. After a few times and a collaboration between
Videoradio and Believe SAS, "Beyond the waterfall" was also released
on the main digital distribution channels. Reviews of the CD are

In August 2007 Overtures have their first change of line-up: due to some personal problems Marko Klanjscek chooses to leave the band. His place is taken by Andrea Cum, ex "Fear no Evil" and "Dagh".
