About Me

Hello, my name is Joyce and I am 54 years young. I live in Southern California, but was born and raised in South Mississippi, and very proud to be from there. I am of Sicilian decent, and working on my family tree and would love to learn some of the language, guess its never too late to learn. I guess my love for blues music came from the south, being some of the best of blues came out of Mississippi. I have always loved cameras and guess I never really put one down. As long as I can remember I always had a camera and was always taking photos. I love shooting concerts, especially blues music, one of my best loves. There is so much expression in blues music, and I love shooting a photo of something coming from the soul..blues. I consider myself to be a freelance photographer since I do alot of shoots here. Some of the musicians on my space are Tommy Castro Band, Eric Sardinas, Smokin' Joe Kuebek,Laurie Morvan Band, Pancho Sanchez, more to come.

My Interests

I own four cameras, a Pentex K 1000 with a 500 zoom, its 29 years old,a Canon A1, given to me by my friend Pat, thanks so much Pat,it is such a great camera, a Sony Mavica digital, and just purchased a new digital a FugiFilm Fine Pix S5200..still learning how to work it. Since I love photography that would be my first interest, second is the beach..I love the beach, it has a way of calming me down and lets me think. I love checking out new venues for music also.

I'd like to meet:

Wow...who would I like to meet...first choice would be BB King, such a great guy, and in my eyes one of the best blues music has to offer. I would love to meet Buddy Guy,and Delbert McClinton. Buddy Guy is just wonderful and has such a great taste in blues. I have seen Delbert a couple of times, and he puts on a show, thats for sure. One very special person I never had the pleasure to meet was Stevie Ray Vaughan. I have been listening to Stevie Ray for years, and its just amazing to sit and watch him play, once Stevie Ray get's into his zone, his music just flows, can listen to him forever..Stevie Ray, very special in my music world. By far there are just too many in the blues world to mention, but I just love the blues. I also love jazz, Boney James, Rick Braun, Charlie Musselwhite, seen them and they are great! As far as movie stars go, I have met a few, but would love to just sit and talk with Morgan Freeman, Robert DeNiro,Al Pacino, and Robert Duvall.

Music:

There are so many people in my music world..blues is my roots being I came from the south.Allman Brothers Band, BB King, Robert Cray, Albert Collins, Albert King,Freddie King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Roy Buchanan,JJ Cale,Popa Chubby, Otis Rush,Bonnie Raitt, Chet Atkins, Jeff Beck, Robben Ford, Muddy Waters,James Brown, Tower Of Power, Billy Preston, Eric Clapton, Tommy Castro, Coco Montoya,The Meters,Dr John, Corey Stevens, Buddy Guy, Robert Johnson...man the list can go on.

Movies:

I don't go to the movies alot, I buy DVD's and watch them at home. Most of my DVD's are music, Stevie Ray Vaughan, alot of Eric Clapton, Eagles, Tommy Castro, and many more. Some fav movies would be Cool Hand Luke, The Green Mile, Forrest Gump, The War, Casino, Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Ocean's Eleven, and anything with Al Pacino. Actually movies depend on what mood I am in to watch. As far as just sitting and watching TV, I love the Discovery Chanel, especially Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe, that guy is just too much, love him, and I like to watch Mythbusters also.
