Hey, I'm Pete Zedlacher, thanks for stoppin' by. I'm currently in my 10th (tenth!) year as a standup comic, time flys when you are having fun - and I'm still having fun. I'll keep hitting those stages until it's no longer fun...there's nothing sadder than a bitter comic. But, that's not in the cards for me.
I've been very fortunate in this comedy game. I'm a two time nominee and one time winner of 'Funniest Male Standup' at the Canadian Comedy Awards
In April of 2002 I was my honour and privledge to entertain the coalition forces serving in Afghanistan, making me the first comedian to perform in that country -- when they told me that, I said "C'mon...there could have been a local comic...you never know...Yuk Yuks Kandahar"
The world famous Just For Laughs festival has been nice enough to invite me to perform 3 times and my Gala performance aired coast to coast on CBC. New Year Eve I appeared on "Best Of The Fest", but you were probably drunk by then.
On top of my comedy career, I've been very fortune at be work as an actor in film and television. I've appeared on such cancelled shows as Sue Thomas F.B.Eye, Runaway, The Sean Cullen Show and Open Mic With Mike Bullard. Numerous times I've appeared in tv commercials, none more embarassing than when I performed my one hour Comedy Now special on CTV. They cut from my performance to a commercial with me in it. The sad part is I made more for the commercial. Ahh, Canadian show business.
