About Me

Peter Hall thinks he is one of those sensitive singer songwriter types. Thing is, he tends to forget where he left his acoustic guitar halfway through a song and ends up playing a distorted humbucking electric axe. He's still dead sensitive, though.
Ok, so what's to know? Well, things began in Hartlepool, on the North East coast of England. Peter formed Wendells Parlour and they quickly became known as the third best band in Hartlepool - a title they furiously contested. Some days they were definitely the second best and sometimes they were the fourth or fifth. They had friends and followers and made thrilling guitar pop songs. They played the North East and Camden Town and many towns in between.
Wendells Parlour was mutated into Savoy. They signed a management deal and then signed up with Work Hard/Rock Hard promotions to help move things along. A sizable section of the music press wrote very nice things about them. They were officially great live. "The Manics on a chill pill," said Melody Maker.. and Kerrang! Dubbed them "a modern day Small Faces." They played the North East and Camden Town and many towns in between. But they were still the third best band in Hartlepool. Savoy drew lots for the glitter and make-up and went their separate ways. Peter's way took him south to Derby where he wrote Head North. Oh, the irony! Graeme, the drummer, joined the wonderful Mercedes on a free transfer.
Peter is now a solo artiste, and that. This means he doesn't know any other musicians or if he does then they are always busy. The last year has been a good one with new songs and good gigs. The songs on here are all solo recordings, just Peter, a few guitars, some shaky things, some hitty things and a computer. "Life" was written in two hours in the company of Tom Robinson who very kindly said that it would have taken him a week to write a song of such high quality. Aw, shucks!...... There've been some great gigs, supporting Midge Ure at Derby Assembly Rooms was a stand out memory and there are some that many people don't have much of a memory of at all. Such is the whirlwind that is life. There will be more to come. Please come too.
