About Me

The Effras are a five-piece based in Norwood, South London, where the River Effra rises and flows underground until it reaches the Thames at Vauxhall. The sound (of the band, not the Effra) is rock with a tinge of country and folk, with songs about steam engines, lost rivers and living in SE19. Byrds, Kinks, Elvis Costello and early REM are key influences.
