was formed in April 1997 in San Diego, CA.
Music that comes from our deepest emotions, passions and fears is our driving force
Each member has a long history of playing in previous bands. Through these past adventures we've all come in contact with one another at some point. In fact, Richard and I took martial arts together when we were 14 or so. Then "re-met" each other in the club scene while playing in other bands. Realizing we had similar vision and goals it was evident we had to start a project. It started off as Cyanide Kiss. We played numerous shows throughout the 90s. Then it was time for a much needed break which turned into a couple years. Eventually, the bat was biting again so we reformed under Sylt (the name was taken from a book I was reading at the time; it's an island in northern Germany). Agreeing we'd have no musical boundries this time and let whatever came out be the path, it's about creating textures and moods; let the listener decide where to take it.
SYLT
currently has awakened from a deep slumber and are ready to perform again. We've been taking our (bloody) sweet time to write all new material. Hard, Raw, and Sensual.
Stay in touch for upcoming shows!
We're sorry to report bad news but nothing is ever easy. Long time friend and bass player extrodinaire, Richard, has decided to move on to pursue other adventures in life. We wish him the best of luck and will miss him. That leaves the band bass playerless again. It wouldn't a real band without drama and hardship anyway. I'll just have to pick up the bass for a while and/or program it. Nothing I haven't done before. Everything happens for a reason, so hopefully we can turn this into a good one. We may also entertain the idea of picking up a new bass player in the future, so if anyone is up to the task please let me know. test Time to grit our teeth, and get a little meaner and nastier...
