About Me
Al and I met in Santiago, Chile, back in the spring of 2002. Our idea was to create music inspired by both our musical influences, that are as wide as our backgrounds. Al played in several Metal bands since his late teens ( though he always says how much of an impact King Crimson’s music had on him, besides his all time favorites: Voivod). As for me, I was the “singer†of some high school punk rock bands, but never satisfied of the results, so changed music for my second love: acting. After studying dramatic arts and be part of some theatre plays and short independant films, I tried to come back to music, but it was kind of hard in a country like Chile to find people with a similar artistic vision...or so I thought.
Because of reasons too exhaustive to put on a band’s bio, both Al and I came separately to Montreal, but reunited with the idea to continue with what we wanted to start back in our beloved little country, so after buying an average priced guitar, bass and a very small Marshal Amp, we started the process of writing, compose and arrange our first songs.
Somewhere along the way we thought it could be a good idea to have a drum machine to give some rythm to our stuff, that so far was more like a dark folk act of 2 guys. Instead, we bougth our first synth, and ever since we took a whole new direction, and as none of us had any kind of experience in electronic music, well, we started to play around and liked what we heard.
After playing and arranging our songs with the help of our dear friend Elise, who gave the vocals to one of our songs, we where lucky enough to meet Val, an incredibly talented girl with conscience about her own potential and who continues to impress us with every new idea she brings to the equation.
We’ve been lucky enough to have the collaboration of great people and great musicians, and not so long ago we started to play with Luis London, who is by far one of the most open minded musicians that have crossed my path.
Even though things haven’t been easy, as sadly by the summer of 2006 a bleeding on my right vocal chord stopped me from singing for several months and delayed our projects to play live, we’ve been lucky enough to, little by little, reach almost every goal we've established for ourselves. With both an album and an EP on the way, produced by the guys of Route23, and looking forward to play live, I can say things can’t be better for us... well, maybe if we become millionaires.
Our intention related to our music is not to give any kind of political message or statement, we sing and play whatever we feel at the present time, not limiting ourselves to a trend, style or genre. Most people who listen to our stuff tell us we are a goth band, which I think is cool but not something that defines us, as I still believe music is not something static, but something that breathes and grows constantly.
