The new Thanatos is done-waiting to be mastered..

About Me

A QUOTE I LIKE FIRST OFF--

"The whole problem with this idea of obscenity and indecency, and all of these things --bad language and whatever --it's all caused by one basic thing, and that is: religious superstition, There's an idea that the human body is somehow evil and bad and there are parts of it that are especially evil and bad, and we should be ashamed. Fear, guilt and shame are built into the attitude toward sex and the body. ... It's reflected in these prohibitions and these taboos that we have."-- " George Carlin in a 2004 AP interview

NEW...Buy Thanatos Blisters (Bonus) at iTunes....with five new live tracks from the band's final show with William Tucker.

.. ...
Thanatos first came to light in the mid 1980s...when Sam Rosenthal and I got together with some out of tune keyboards and guitars. We released our first real music in 1992....band became a live act in the mid 90s. These days we play rarely and with a varied line-up....Still slogging along listening to recordings and trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with them...Keep an eye here for info on new releases.
RELEASES INCLUDE--
"This Endless Night Inside" in 1993 (Projekt),
"An Embassy to Gaius" in 1995 (Projekt),
"The Neighbor of the Beast" (ep) in something like 1996 (Projekt),
"Blisters" 1997 (Projekt),
Illegalteenagebikini "I Am Not Job" 2003 (Precipice).
UPCOMING....The Exterminating Angel....
..and a bunch of compilations...
Feel free to get in touch..we love to hear from anyone...Or almost anyone.......

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: projekt.com/projekt/artist.asp?id=1030
Band Members: Originally...Patrick Ogle and Sam Rosenthal. Currently Patrick Ogle, Eric Polcyn, Greg Lucas, Tim Larson and Tommy Henry....occassionally the spirit of William Tucker tosses an ashtray at someone or whispers "for fuck's ssake PA-Ht."
Influences: I am not sure who my influences are. But I can tell you who I like (even tho I didn;t like many of them until well after I was doing music...and most of them have nothing in common with what I play)....John Hiaitt..Guy Clark, Peter Murphy, Love and Rockets, Killing Joke, Bauhaus, Nick Cave, Wyclef Jean, Boukman Ekspereyens, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Bob Dylan, Velvet Underground, Iggy, Interpol, Ween, Lee Perry, David Bowie, Billy Bragg, Lou Reed, Claire Voyant, Thrill Kill Kult, Chris Connelly, Tricky....and many many many more....
Sounds Like:

Among the things I took as compliments that people TOLD me I sounded like were--(first two records) "Like the demos for the Ziggystardust album"...."Psychadelic Furs..."..."Peter Murphy"....Of these...the first is the most accurate...Neither of the other two really hold water but it is sorta like when someone tells you you look like Cary Grant....its bullshit but take the compliment and run with it...

Later records (Blisters, I Am Not Job) I heard everything from Pink Flloyd (who I am not really a big FAN of...) there were others but I forget them....
