When the Senior VP of Music at Sony Pictures called Jhing last year, he said that film director Sam Raimi was asking if she was available to do a singing part for his movie. Days later, Jhing was being fitted for wardrobe at Sony Pictures, recording at Signet Sound, the former Motown Hitsville Studios in Los Angeles, and filming at Paramount Studios on the set of a blockbuster movie that indeed turned out to be Spider-Man 3.
The 3rd installment is reportedly the most expensive film ever made with a budget of $250 million. Jhing played a principal role as a singer in a jazz club and spent weeks filming with lead stars Toby Maguire (Peter Parker/Spider-Man), Kirsten Dunst (Mary Jane Watson), Topher Grace (Eddie Brock/Venom), and Bryce Dallas Howard (Gwen Stacy). Spider-Man 3 was recently released on DVD worlwide.
As a singer and songwriter, Jhing is definitely staying busy. Just recently, she was seen in ABC’s “Boston Legal,†staring James Spader and William Shatner, and has worked on a new show on the Fox network. She’s written and sang for other artists including Linkin Park, worked for Disney and various T.V. shows and commercials, and frequently does session work. Jhing is one of the most sought out singers in Southern California and “gigs†as a freelance singer on the west coast.
Last year, Jhing independently released a CD titled SUSHI MONEY. The music was laid back, jazzy and laced with her sultry voice. The album quickly gained worldwide acceptance in Europe and Asia. Sushi Money is available for download and purchase through most major music sites including itunes, CD Baby, MP3.com, Napster, Real Rhapsody, Sony Connect, and more.
Jhing is currently working on several new songs with Producer, Songwriter, and mentor, Bobby Nunn. Her new songs are infused with raw beats, jazzy chords, organic feel, and untamed lyrics.
