Renowned saxophonist Eric Person has now released his new CD, Rhythm Edge. It includes two of his favorite previously recorded compositions and others that break ground on a new vision in Eric's music . The CD features dynamic performances from trombonist Robin Eubanks, trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, guitarist Cary Denigris, percussionsit Danny Sadownick and Eric's working band, Meta-Four: pianist Jarod Kashkin, bassist Adam Armstrong, and drummer Peter O' Brien.
Eric has performed with some musics most talented and progressive artists: Dave Holland, McCoy Tyner, World Saxophone Quartet, Vernon Reid, Ben Harper, Chico Hamilton, Ronald Shannon Jackson and Donald Byrd among others. His broad range of experience has contributed greatly to his mature alto and soprano sound, and his skills as an arranger and composer. He's toured extensively throughout the United States, Canada, South America, Europe and Japan.
What makes Rhythm Edge different from Person's other CD's is the amount of different textures, flavors, and vibes that he's got flowing through this disc. The songs are funky, grooving, percolating, and bringing a feeling that you won't forget any time soon.
