JULIAN VAUGHN //Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, the city of the great Miles Davis, he started his musical career very young surrounded by a strong blues and jazz atmosphere. Julian started to play with Albert King and then B.B. King, as for blues what more could you ask for. The Kings of the blues. “I couldn’t ask for a better school of Blues, those two artists gave me my foundation for music the rest of my life”.After touring with the Kings for four or five years, Julian left St. Louis and moved to Boston, where he would meet and study with the legendary Allan Dawson for three years. Then, he moved to New York where he began to play with great artists such as Lester Bowie, Arthur Blythe, Chico Freeman, Joan Brakeem, Jack Mc Duff, James Moody or Wallace Rooney, to name a few.While living in New York he toured to Europe and Japan, but after a tour in Spain he decided to move to Barcelona, from where he continued playing all around Europe and also he toured Africa with the jazz singer Spanky Wilson. Since then, Vaughn has been very active and involved in different projects and performed in many stages. At the same time, he’s permanently requested by international musicians.
