Galileo began writing compositions in 2003. Two years later they produced and published their first independent CD. "Earthbound" received airplay on the KQXT radio show "Sunday Morning Jazz" months before the first live performance.
Their debut engagement was on June 29th, 2005. Three months later they performed at San Antonio's annual downtown Jazz festival, Jazz'sAlive. A month later, Galileo was asked to open for Steve Oliver and Spyro Gyra at an outdoor concert at the Witte Museum! Most recently, Galileo opened for Joe McBride at the Balcones Heights summer jazz series.
The three members of this trio are old high school buddies that lost touch and reconnected 28 years later. Eventually writing music became the late night thing to do.
Members of the trio:.
Brad DiBaggio plays a unique mix of acoustic and electronic V-drums. He composes all of the rhythm for the group and was engineer for the first CD. His award winning design firm, DiBaggio Design Group, designed the artwork for their debut CD "Earthbound.".
Chip Ruedebusch plays the EVI (electronic valve instrument) and the EWI (electronic wind instrument). There are no actual valves but rather electronic contact buttons. These instruments are capable of playing sampled sounds from any instrument imaginable. This is what gives Galileo such a variety of sound in their eclectic package. Chips' father, Dick Ruedebusch, was a legendary Dixieland trumpet player. Chip composes the lead melodies on all Galileo's charts..
Jon Sanders plays simultaneous bass and keys to give the band that true four piece sound. He is the lead composer and writes the foundation for each composition. He is also a vocalist.
We encourage everyone to leave your thoughts on our sound – especially if you are a professional musician.
