About Me

The Eisenhowers is not so much a band, more a loose collection of people making a noise with musical instruments. The music they play is an eclectic and adult-oriented mix, inspired by the likes of Aimee Mann, Elvis Costello, The Beach Boys, REM, Crowded House, Steely Dan and XTC.The debut album 'Almost half-undressed' features 12 literate, punchy and thoughtful songs about sex, celebrity, love, money, parenthood and serial killers. All members of The Eisenhowers collective are politically aware and very much focused on the important issues of the day. They guarantee that at least 20% of the proceeds from sales will be used to buy girlie mags and alcohol.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: eisenhowers.co.uk
Band Members: Dwight C. Eisenhower, Beauregard Goldwater III, Otis T. Nixon, J. Clancy Reagan and Thadius Driftwood-Bush.
Influences: Aimee Mann, Elvis Costello, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Radiohead, Joni Mitchell, ELO, Crowded House, REM, Steely Dan, The Kinks, Roxy Music, Ben Folds, XTC, Nik Kershaw, Be Bop Deluxe, Jellyfish, Squeeze, Stevie Wonder, Jimmy Webb and anyone else who thinks that 'moon' doesn't necessarily have to rhyme with 'sausage'.
Sounds Like: Elvis Costello suffers a massive blow to the head. When he wakes up in hospital, he finds that he is living in an 'alternative' reality in which he is a former member of Jellyfish who is trying to write a novel about a delusional guy who thinks he might be living inside the head of someone playing in an XTC tribute band.
